FOR ŠKODA AUTO EMPLOYEES
FOLLOW THE
CORONAVIRUS
MEASURES
Dear Škodians,
We have seen a significant increase of
cases where employees violate the
existing COVID-19 health & safety
restrictions. Adopted in cooperation
with the KOVO Trade Union, the set of
measures known as Safe Production and
Safe Office are designed to protect the
health of employees and their families
while ensuring that ŠKODA AUTO can
continue its production and business
activities without undesired
interruptions. The adopted measures
and restrictions only make sense as long
as we all comply with them together employees, as well as all other people
working on the Company's sites.
SO and the security service provider are
performing more frequent compliance
checks, as the epidemic situation
remains very serious. The most
common violations include an incorrectly
used face mask or a failure to wear one,
particularly at ŠKODA AUTO sites
outside the production premises. Some
employees also keep breaching the nosmoking and social-distancing
restrictions.
Everyone working at ŠKODA AUTO
is therefore once again reminded of their
obligation to comply with the current
health & safety restrictions
and are requested to support the
Company's health protection efforts.
These measures may seem lengthy and
annoying, but compared to the drastic
consequences of COVID-19, wearing a
face mask is a negligible contribution
from each of us.
Head Staff Also Performs Checks
Please be advised that non-compliers
may face disciplinary sanctions under
the internal Work Rules. Managementlevel staff members are reminded of
their obligation to check compliance
with the said measures within their
teams, in order to avoid possible
disciplinary sanctions for inaction.
Thank you for your cooperation. It's
about the health of us all!

WHY GET VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19?
Epidemiologists and experts around the world agree that global vaccination is the only way to
stop the spread of COVID-19 and return to our usual pre-pandemic life routines. ŠKODA
AUTO is, in cooperation with the KOVO Trade Union, developing a vaccination strategy
of its employees (including agency staff and employees of integrated companies), which
derivates from the official strategy of the Czech Government.
Individual benefits of the vaccine
The greatest benefit for the vaccinated person alone is
that they will not fall ill or feel only weak symptoms if they
encounter COVID-19.This effect is essential mainly in
high-risk population groups. Besides that, vaccinated
people will be once again able to travel without limitations.
Airline companies may require passengers to provide a
COVID-19 vaccination certificate or a negative test.
Collective benefits of the vaccine
This vaccine will also have a direct protective effect for the
family, friends and colleagues. If a vaccinated person falls ill
with COVID-19, their infectivity is very low. Another
important work and finances related benefit right after
employee health protection: the expect decrease
of ordered quarantines/isolations.
Society, in both corporate and global terms, will benefit
most from the vaccine if 70% of the population or more
get vaccinated. That will lead to herd immunity, i.e.
a situation where a large number of vaccinated individuals
protect one unvaccinated person.
„Unfortunately, those who don't
get vaccinated and rely on their
colleagues to do it for them, are
taking a somewhat calculating and
unsportsmanlike approach where
someone ‚takes the wheel‘ and
the others are just ‚passengers‘,“
appeals Dr. Jiří Prokop, Head
of SG, to the solidarity of all.
H. DIESS:
SPECIAL ROLE
OF ŠKODA
MOBILE WORK FOR
QUARANTINED PROD.
AND OPER. WORKERS
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and after
an agreement with the KOVO Trade Union, from
18/01/21, ŠKODA AUTO will offer mobile work
regime to production/operative workers, who have
been quarantined by the Regional Public Health Office
or the SG department, after the workers reach an
agreement with their superior. This mobile work regime
takes a form of online qualification improvement for
which the employee is entitled to a salary (not the 60%
of the daily basis of assessment). This is a pilot project
where procedural and administrative changes can occur.
All details, instructions and study materials can be found
at the ŠKODA Space Employee Portal.
