T

his year, the world’s most famous cycling race starts on

Saturday, 7 July, and ends on Sunday, 29 July. The 105th edition of

the Tour de France will mostly take

place in France, but it will also

pass through neighbouring countries during some stages. The route changes every

year, but traditionally it leads the racers to

the mountain stages in the Pyrenees and

the Alps before finishing on the ChampsÉlysées in Paris. The biggest attraction this

year is the route itself, which offers two more

mountain stages than before. The dreaded

cobblestones, gravel and challenging peaks

are also back. An overview and the length

of each stage can be found in the

infographic.

In every Tour de France, the peloton is accompanied by a fleet of

ŠKODA models provided by the carmaker, which is the official car supplier and partner of the race. The fleet works

as support cars or as a mobile repair shop

offering assistance, spare wheels, tyres and

even an advisory service for riders in trouble. It also provides official cars for organisers and the race director. If you are a cycling

enthusiast, follow the results, stories and interesting race information on www.welovecycling.com. It can be accessed immediately
