Earn a digital driver’s licence
THE ONLINE GUIDE WILL HELP EMPLOYEES WITHOUT A WORK COMPUTER TO GET ORIENTED IN THE DIGITAL SPACE

ith the transition to the new Office 365 suite of office applications and communication tools, the ŠKODA Academy has prepared another training platform for employees who do not use a work computer. The newly launched Digital Driver’s Licence will help them to get oriented in the confusing digital world, figure out how different services and functions work and how to better protect their digital identity.
Why are strong passwords so important? How can one work with e-mails as efficiently as possible? What does the lock icon in the browser address bar mean? What is the purpose of the incognito mode, and what are the advantages and pitfalls of so-called multi-tasking? If you are asking these and similar questions, the Digital Driver’s Licence is the ideal opportunity for you to find answers and broaden your horizons.
Study from the comfort of your home
The Digital Driver’s Licence training programme is intended primarily for those of you who do not have a work computer. After a simple verification process using your personal number, it can be accessed anytime and from anywhere – from private computers, tablets and phones. The programme focuses more on general topics, such as digital security and the currently heavily discussed digital detox. The aim is to help you to get better oriented in today’s technological possibilities, learn to use them for your needs and find out which security pitfalls await you in the online world and how to face them. The training will also benefit your private life because what employees learn there can be used outside work as well.
“The programme consists of two parts. Self-study is based on videos and related information on the individual topics – step by step, you check off the individual items until you reach your destination. This brings better awareness of how to work with digital services and tools. If you want to broaden your horizons even more, the second part of the platform – microlearning – is freely available. It is basically a bottomless well of videos. You can go through the individual activities at your own pace, be inspired by the offered tips and, thus, increase your digital skills”, explains Dominika Pomp from SEA/1 – New Media/Language Training.
