THE

ECOLOGICAL

BURDEN HAS

DECREASED BY

56.1%

The 2017/2018 Sustainability Report provides a detailed overview of ŠKODA AUTO’s

environmental activities covered by its Green

Future strategy. Between 2010 and 2018, the

Czech carmaker reduced its environmental

impacts by 56.1 percent. Its water consumption per car produced decreased by more

than one-third during the monitored period, and the amount of volatile organic compounds produced during car painting decreased even more sharply. Recycling is also

part of the gentle handling of natural resources, so all the current models count on material recycling up to 85 percent in the case of

the SCALA model. For its commitment and

achievements in 2018, the car manufacturer has been awarded the Top Responsible

Large Company Award, which the Business

for Society non-profit organisation hands out

to companies that are environmentally responsible on a long-term basis and reduce

their environmental footprint. RED

ON OUR WAY

TO BEING

NEUTRAL

The Group’s Board of Directors has approved our

Go to Zero environmental mission, whose main

objective is to promote our environmentally friendly

approach throughout the life cycle of our cars and

mobility solutions. In mid-July, ŠKODA AUTO’s

Board of Directors pledged to do so as well. The

Group’s mission focuses on our four priority areas:

Climate Change We have joined the Paris Climate

Agreement and wish to become a carbon-neutral

company by 2050.

JOINT FOREST

RENEWAL

Dr. Michael Oeljeklaus, Frank Schreier and

70 other participants from our Production

and Logistics leadership and Quality Management helped in the Krkonoše National

Park. They jointly planted 326 maple trees

near the Horni Maršov municipality. Through this initiative, they helped to improve the

species composition of the forest stands in

the oldest national park in the Czech Republic. In the future, the newly planted deciduous trees will clearly benefit the forest, improve its stability, create a more favourable

microclimate and make it more resistant to

pests. RED
