VRCHLABÍ TO BECOME CO2-NEUTRAL THIS YEAR

THIS YEAR, THE VRCHLABÍ COMPONENT PLANT IS SET TO BECOME THE

FIRST ŠKODA AUTO SITE IN THE WORLD TO PRODUCE IN

A CO2-NEUTRAL MANNER.

The greatest carbon dioxide savings have been made by rigorously converting

the high-tech factory to the use of renewable energies – reducing CO2 emissions from an initial 45,000 tonnes per year to a current 3,000 tonnes. As a next

step, the remaining emissions will now also be offset through further compensation measures and the purchasing of CO2 certificates.

We described the Vrchlabí path to CO2-neutrality in this year’s ŠKODA Mobil May Issue

SAFE HOLIDAY

Instead of a holiday by the sea, many Czechs will spend it inside the

country's borders, leading to a more congested traffic. That’s why we are

promoting activities that improve traffic conditions and are supported

as part of the Employee Collections, grants and other projects. Safe

Friday focuses on educating children on traffic safety and prevention.

ŠKODA AUTO’s Traffic Safety Research analyzes circumstances and

development of various road accidents.

Saying goodbye to

a colleague? Your superior

helped you with a difficult

situation or do you just

know someone who

deserves a thank you?

WE FILED THE MOST PATENTS

We filed 94 patent applications last year, more than any other Czech company. Most of the applications

come from our Technical Development and Production departments. Many of the innovations may be used

in the brand’s models. Among the protected innovations is e.g. the ŠKODA Scooter – a sustainable, practical

mobility solution for the last mile that can be easily folded and stored in the boot in just a few simple steps –

is registered as a protected utility model, for example.

More examples of our patents are in the press release at ŠKODA Storyboard
