FOR ŠKODA AUTO EMPLOYEES
WHEN YOU NEED TO SEE THE DOCTOR
DO YOU KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH MEDICAL ISSUES DURING YOUR WORKING HOURS?
From time to time, everybody experiences diseases and other medical issues they have to solve with
medical personnel. Many myths accompany doctor visits during working hours. Even though the Labour
Code precisely specifies work leave with wage compensation in these cases.
Organize doctor visits
outside your working hours.
If you work on shifts, it
should not be complicated
even in case of a scheduled
examination or operation.
If you only go to morning
shifts, you can utilize
afternoon hours for seeing
the doctor, or eventually,
flexible working hours of
morning appointments etc.
Is it impossible to visit the medical institution outside
your working hours? Schedule it, after closing a lawful
agreement with the trade union at a doctor closest to
the place of work or place of residence. Attendance administrator will mark work leave with wage compensation only for the absolutely necessary time – i.e. when
visiting a dentist or orthopedist, this includes time required to go from work to the hospital and back, plus
the actual examination (i.e. 30min – 45min – 30min).
The remaining time of absence at the workplace is not
excused in specific cases.
Only absolutely necessary time of absence is excused.
If you have to wait before the medical examination,
the doctor will mark your time of arrival and departure
for the employer. The employer can verify the time
required for the examination by phone.
Multiple doctor visits are not an excuse for a full-day
work absence. Again, only absolutely necessary time
and adequate time required for the medical examination is excused. Not complying with these rules will be
seen, as per agreement between the carmaker as well
KOVO Trade Union, as breach of work discipline and
will not be tolerated.
