A total of 173 employees took part in a March survey on the Energy Management System (EnMS), which helps reduce energy consumption, costs and emissions at Škoda Auto. The aim was to find out where people in the company see the greatest waste and which measures they believe could have the biggest impact. The results showed that employees are very interested in saving energy. They rated the importance of responsible energy use at an average of 8.5 out of 10. At the same time, they said they would like more information and more specific communication on the topic. Nearly half of the respondents described concrete examples of waste, and 39% came up with their own ideas for saving energy. The topics mentioned most often were lighting, heating, ventilation and water management. Lighting is one area where Škoda Auto is taking specific action. The plants are gradually switching to modern LED technology, which lowers energy consumption, improves lighting comfort and enhances working conditions. LED lighting is now the standard in modern industrial facilities. It allows precise control of light intensity, a fast response when lights are switched on and off, and easy integration into smart building management systems. The survey also confirmed that savings are not achieved through technology alone. Employees' daily habits matter too – from switching off lights to mindful energy use in everyday operations.
