Small Epiq, Big Surprise
In May, we unveiled the Epiq in Switzerland – our most affordable and compact electric car. But that doesn't mean it's short on space. Quite the opposite! Its boot is one of the largest in its class, and it's packed with plenty of cool features. Did you know, for example, that you can comfortably control it with just one pedal?
The Epiq is Compact, Smart and Confident
Škoda's all-new and most affordable electric vehicle impresses with its spacious interior, everyday practicality and economical running.
Feature
First Edition
At launch, the Epiq is available in a limited First Edition with the most powerful powertrain and a range of unique features in a striking Navajo orange. You will find it on the mirror caps, the trim above the side windows, the front and rear bumpers and the wheel covers. Inside, the seats and dashboard feature orange stitching, and the seatbelts are finished in this colour too. Other distinctive features include a three-spoke steering wheel with a First Edition badge, sporty pedal covers and a black headliner.
This year, Škoda will double its successful range of fully electric vehicles. The first of them, the Epiq urban crossover, was launched in May. It was developed as part of a joint project for compact electric vehicles by the volume brands of the VW Brand Group Core. The Epiq brings several major firsts. It is the first Škoda electric vehicle built on a new platform, and also the first production car to fully adopt the Modern Solid design language. This is clear, for example, in the new T-shaped light signature. Unlike previous electric models, the Epiq also comes with front-wheel drive only. But one thing stays the same – despite its compact size, it offers plenty of space and practicality.
The lights and bumpers have been redesigned. The car's minimalist design is defined by simple shapes. From the side, the Epiq looks confident thanks to its high side line and wide lower body. At the front, the familiar Tech-Deck Face grille is complemented by T‑shaped headlights and distinctive vertical air intakes in the bumper. The same motif is repeated at the rear. Fuel consumption is reduced by excellent aerodynamics, which are improved not only by passive elements but also by features such as active flaps behind the front bumper.
The Epiq is the very first Škoda production model to be made without any materials of animal origin.
One pedal is all it takes to drive
The Epiq offers two traction battery capacities and three powertrain variants (see an overview). The platform has been designed with an emphasis on low weight for lower energy consumption and the most efficient use of space in the car. It supports bidirectional charging: the energy stored in the battery can be used, for example, to charge an e-bike, or, with a suitable wallbox, to supply power to the home or the grid. Everyday use is made easier by full one-pedal control in B mode. The driver simply presses the accelerator; when it is released, the car decelerates smoothly while efficiently recovering energy (regenerative braking).
Masterful use of space
The clean, minimalist interior welcomes passengers with a practical layout and intuitive controls. As well as generous passenger space, it offers one of the largest boots in its class and a range of other storage compartments, including a "frunk" (front boot) under the bonnet, which will be available later. The fabric upholstery in all variants is made entirely from recycled polyester fibres. Besides interiors in black and grey, the range also includes the Loft Mint version, with a striking, elegant green. The top-of-the-range Suite trim offers seats made of Suedia material with a 3D pattern, combined with an alternative in brown Techtona leather. Traditional Simply Clever features are also included, now joined by, for example, a film under the door handles that protects the paint from scratches caused by fingernails.
Seamless phone connectivity
The car's digital hub is a 13-inch infotainment system (information and entertainment system) built on the Android platform, which makes it easy to connect a mobile phone. As well as Škoda's own apps, users also have access to selected third-party services such as Spotify, YouTube and Google Maps. With the Tech package, the centre console includes a Phone Box with wireless charging. The Epiq offers a range of advanced driver-assistance features, including some usually found in higher-class cars. The state-of-the-art Assisted Driving 3.0 system is also available as an option; it includes lane-keeping assist and traffic jam assist, and now responds to traffic lights too. Intelligent automatic parking is also included.
Noteworthy on the exterior is the almost vertical edge of the rear door near the window, which increases entry space and also makes the car look a little more like an SUV from the side. The sides of the boot opening are also essentially vertical, making it easier to load large boxes.

What stands out most is the effort to keep operation simple. Physical buttons remain below the central screen, particularly for the most frequently used functions. At our first encounter, the car made a rather serious impression, with high-quality materials and craftsmanship.

The car feels sensible and is well proportioned, offering good visibility, easy handling in the city and the practical space solutions that Škoda customers have come to expect. It is compact in narrow streets and handles well on faster roads. And it has a boot that is really large for a car of this size.

The Epiq will be talked about as a cheap electric Škoda, but you would never know it to look at it. The quality of materials and workmanship is top-notch; the dashboard and door panels are pleasant to the touch, and the car looks impressive too.
