First of all, I would like to thank you all for how prudently,
pragmatically and solidarily you have dealt with this
exceptional situation. After the crisis, we may find
paradoxically that the virus – although now physically
creating more distance between us – will bring us all
closer together as a ŠKODA family.
As announced, we stopped production at our three Czech
plants on Wednesday at 22:00. The shutdown of the
factories was carried out in an orderly manner, and our
supply chains have been adjusted. I would like to thank
everyone involved for their excellent work under these
adverse circumstances. Many thanks also to our social
partner KOVO for the constructive cooperation and
support. Our employees’ health is our number one priority.
With this drastic measure, we are doing everything we can
to slow down the spread of the coronavirus and protect
you. The other Volkswagen Group brands have largely
halted production at their European plants. The same
applies to all of us: Safety first! In the indirect area, we are
organising ourselves better by the hour via the various
digital communication channels, allowing us to carry out all
the necessary tasks. I would particularly like to thank the
colleagues who are ‘keeping alive’ our operational facilities
in the factories and power plant, as well as important
projects, and therefore making a restart possible.
We will, of course, keep you up-to-date as the situation
progresses over the coming days and weeks. You can
find information on our internal ŠKODA Space portal,
which can also be accessed from home and your
smartphone. We have also set up a ŠKODA
communication channel on VIMEO (https://vimeo.com/
showcase/internikomunikace). In addition, you can
subscribe to an SMS service by submitting your mobile
number to HR. Please, pass this information on to your
colleagues so that all Škodians can stay up-to-date on all

this service to your friends and
colleagues. These days, when most of
you aren't present at the workplace, it
is difficult to reach you all at once.
A NEW VIDEO
Not only questions sent to
email@example.com will be answered on the
recently created videochannel at
In short videos, we bring practical
information to help you during the
production shutdown of our Czech
plants. The Vimeo platform was
picked to ensure that every single
employee can access these clips.
Please, share this with your friends
from the Production. These days, it is
difficult to reach you through usual
channels of Internal Communication.
I can imagine that you, dear Škodians, have many
questions at the moment. This difficult situation has also
moved me, which is why we have devised a new dialogue
format. Simply send us your questions with the subject
‘Emergency Situation’ to email address
We will answer your questions and publish them
on the ŠKODA Space Employee Portal.
We are looking forward to your questions!
Take care of yourself and stay healthy.

THE COUNTDOWN FOR THE
SEVENTH STUDENT CONCEPT CAR
IS ON. 20 ŠKODA ACADEMY
STUDENTS WILL TAKE PART IN THIS
AMBITIOUS PROJECT IN 2020.
They have decided to design and build
an open-top Spider version of the
compact model SCALA. At ŠKODA
Design's workshop in Mladá Boleslav,
the participants met ŠKODA Head
Designer Oliver Stefani and put their
first ideas down on paper with him
and his team. The still-unnamed
Student Car, which the students will
be constructing according to the
design, will be presented to the public
in early June. For the seventh time in a
row, the hands-on project underlines
the high standard of training at the
ŠKODA Vocational School, which was
established more than 90 years ago.
