  Police Expand Fleet with Kodiaq, Test Elroq
  

  Over the past three decades , Czech security forces have taken delivery of more than 25,000 Škoda vehicles. Now, hundreds more Kodiaq vehicles are joining them. The first 51 of these were ceremoniously handed over to the Czech Police at the carmaker’s test track in Úhelnice on October 31. The vehicles are equipped with a protective frame, have increased chassis and drivetrain durability, and their interior allows for the transport of detained persons. All-wheel drive is a matter of course. Based on a lease agreement, an Elroq electric car with police stickers and specific features necessary for police patrols, such as warning devices, was also put into service at the beginning of October. Police officers will test how the car handles the load, especially with regard to demanding operating conditions and high mileage. The Czech Police already uses a number of electric cars in the Clean Mobility project, but so far only in civilian versions and mainly for the needs of criminal investigators. The Elroq will be the first electric car to be used directly for police service.

  Škoda IT Day in Wolfsburg

  On 18 September, experts, innovators and information technology enthusiasts from the VW Group gathered at the IT:CITY campus in Wolfsburg to learn about Škoda IT. Interactive presentations highlighted current projects, technological advances and cooperation within the Group. The participants enjoyed a presentation of the New Product Organisation strategy, Lean ERP solutions and more. The event was organised by the Group Competence Centre (Škoda GCC) and also featured presentations by the Azure Competence Centre from the FIO – IT Services department and the Green:Code subsidiary.

  46 crews took part in the Economy Run

  In the traditional competition, which aims to test the fuel efficiency of Škoda cars on the route from Mladá Boleslav to Vrchlabí and back, Jan and Lukáš Ryšavý achieved the lowest fuel consumption and emissions in their Elroq, at 51.08 g of CO2 per km. Other noteworthy results include Lubomír Fiala, who first competed in 1982 with a 110 R car. This year, he and Ondřej Dostál dominated the CNG category, achieving fuel consumption of 2.23 kg of gas per 100 km with their Citigo G-TEC car.   Support for SAP software training

  Škoda Auto is expanding its cooperation with universities in the field of SAP corporate software training. Experts from the Group Competence Centre (Škoda GCC) help students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience with the system, which is an international standard for medium and large enterprises. Training takes place at the 42 Prague Institute, the VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava and the Technical University of Liberec. Starting next semester, SAP will be part of the curriculum at the Škoda Auto University as well. You can read about how the training works on the Škoda Career website.

  The carmaker has produced 1 million fourth-generation Octavia cars since the model was launched in 2019. Last year, Škoda’s most successful car underwent a facelift.
  

  Try desserts made by people with disabilities

  Employees at the Kvasiny plant can now enjoy baked goods from Pekárna Na Plechu. This is one of the social enterprises of the Pferda non-profit organisation, which helps people with intellectual or mental health challenges in the Rychnov, Náchod and Trutnov regions. It is supported by the Škoda Auto Foundation through the Region without Barriers and This Is My Home grant programmes. The desserts are sold in Kvasiny every Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the plant’s second gate. Several dozen products, such as cream puffs, punch slices and pretzels, are sold every day.

  New book charts 25 years of Škoda Auto University

  The celebrations marking a quarter of a century of Škoda Auto University (ŠAVŠ) culminated in the launch of the 25 Years in Stories publication, written by Hana Volfová and Radek Štěpánek. Several distinguished guests, including CEO Klaus Zellmer, attended the event at the Na Karmeli Education Centre on 18 September. The book captures key moments in the school’s history through interviews and stories from representatives of both Škoda Auto and the KOVO MB Trade Union, academics, employees, partners, graduates and current students. It outlines the vision for the coming years as well. The book can be purchased directly at the school or online at the SAVŠ e-shop ŠAVŠ.

  AGV Open Day presented autonomous technology innovations 

  Colleagues from Production and Logistics, along with other technology enthusiasts, drew inspiration from the world of autonomous ground vehicles (AGVs). At the beginning of September, suppliers presented their latest innovative products and solutions at the AGV Open Day 2025 event through both presentations and live demonstrations. The show was attended by around 200 visitors, including Andreas Dick, Board Member for Production and Logistics, Luboš Doleček, Head of the PL – Brand Logistics department, and Marek Jancák, Head of the PF – Car Production department.   Vision O unveiled at Designblok

  Škoda also made a strong showing at the design and fashion show at Prague›s Exhibition Grounds. In Křižík’s Pavilion B, the public was able to see the Vision O concept with their own eyes for the first time. The Škoda & Marcantonio outdoor installation also featured the Elroq RS 130 in matte graphite gray, which is available in a limited edition of 130 units in honor of the carmaker’s anniversary.   The car’s technical specifications immediately impress with a maximum power output of 130 kW, which, like the model name, refers to this year’s anniversary of the car manufacturer. This milestone has been achieved by the 1.5 TSI evo2 four-cylinder petrol engine, which previously featured a maximum power output of 110 kW in the Fabia model. However, the extra 20 kilowatts is just one piece of the puzzle. The engine now has a sharper character and better response to the accelerator pedal, and the maximum torque of 250 Nm is available across a significantly wider range of RPMs, which improves flexibility. The developers have also tuned the seven-speed DSG automatic transmission to match the engine, which now responds even more quickly and draws the driver more into the action. In the Sport mode, for example, it can downshift with double-clutching.

  The result of these changes is the Fabia 130’s excellent dynamics. At 228 km/h, it is the fastest production Fabia ever. Other features contribute to driving pleasure as well. The chassis, lowered by 15 mm, has two newly adjusted steering characteristics (Normal/Sport), which can be changed in the driving mode selection. Another new feature is the option to activate ASR Sport + ESC sport mode in addition to the standard ASR off function, which allows for greater wheel slip while the ESC system intervenes later. This ensures an exciting but still safe experience. Fabia 130 drivers can thus enjoy the character of the vehicle in different driving modes.

  Dynamic even at first glance

  The car’s sporty character is further emphasised by its appearance. It is complemented primarily by the 18-inch Libra wheels in a smoke finish. The rear of the car is adorned with a black stripe reminiscent of the Fabia Rally2. A dual exhaust tip peeks out from under the diffuser. Bi-LED headlights with black inner frames give the car a sharper look, and each of the four body colours is complemented by a Magic Black roof, which also extends to the pillars, exterior mirrors and other details.

  The fact that this is a special edition is highlighted by the 130 emblems on the front fenders and tailgate. Inside, the Fabia 130 has sport seats with integrated headrests, three-spoke sports steering wheel, and pedals with stainless steel covers. The sporty feel is complemented by black-anodised aluminium door sills and silver decorative elements on the dashboard and door handles. Of course, the car comes with rich standard equipment, which can be further enhanced with the 130 Plus package that includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, heated windscreen and more.

  The Engine Is the Main Attraction

  The engineers focused on increasing the engine’s output for the limited-edition Fabia 130. However, they fine-tuned other details as well, so that drivers can enjoy the ride to the fullest.

  The 130 kW engine clearly improves the Fabia 130’s dynamics. The 1.5 TSI engine is based on the standard 1.5 TSI evo2 engine with the output of 110 kW; however, the engineers modified it to increase its output to 130 kW. “This engine version is intended exclusively for a limited edition to celebrate the company’s 130th anniversary,” says Martin Hrdlička, Head of the EP – Development Powertrain and Chassis Systems department.

  The engine will be manufactured alongside standard versions on the production line in Mladá Boleslav. “The original 1.5 TSI evo2 engine was developed at Volkswagen, but the development work associated with increasing its power was carried out primarily in Mladá Boleslav,” says Martin Hábovčík, development engineer for engine control calibration at EPS/1 – Application of drive-basic, driveability.

  This is part of a long-term strategy to transfer the development competencies for the EA211 engine series from VW to Škoda Auto.

  In connection with the increased output, the engine designers primarily focused on modifications to the more heavily loaded components. “In some cases, we installed more robust parts, while also optimizing the parameterization of the engine and transmission control unit,” explains M. Hábovčík. The result is also the availability of the maximum torque of 250 Nm across a wider RPM range. To ensure that the behaviour of the seven-speed DSG transmission matches the engine’s dynamic nature, it was tuned for sportier shifting.

  Other smart features

  However, it was not only the engine developers who worked on the Fabia 130. Some of the car’s systems also received new features. In particular, the ESC stability control system was modified. It features two newly added modes. In the first ASR Off mode, traction control for controlled wheel slip is disabled. The other mode, ASR Sport + ESC Sport, allows for greater permissible wheel slip and later ESC intervention, so that the car can, for example, drift slightly.

  If understeer occurs, the system helps to minimise this inherent characteristic. “In the event of an extreme yaw rate increase, ESC still intervenes and prevents loss of control of the car,” adds M. Hábovčík. Interestingly, when the ESC Sport mode is activated, some assistant functions, such as Front Assist, ACC and cruise control, are deactivated. When cruise control or ACC is activated, the ESC system switches back to its standard settings.

  Motorsport heritage

  The Fabia model, whose first generation was launched by the carmaker in 1999, has long been associated with motorsport. That is why it has seen a number of sports editions. These included two RS models – the first generation with a 1.9 TDI engine and the second with a 1.4 TSI engine. The third generation included the limited edition Fabia Edition R5. The Fabia WRC, Fabia S2000, and Fabia Rally2 specials from Škoda Motorsport scored points in rallies. Thanks to a series of victories and titles in WRC2 and ERC, as well as in national and regional competitions, the Fabia rally special became the most successful car in its category.

This upgrade will enhance data security, unify access and simplify work with cloud services. Thousands of employees have already completed the long-planned system migration.   Many Škoda Auto users have already successfully transitioned to the new Active Directory (NewAD) environment.

  Digitisation

  We reported on the migration to the new system, which handles all the user logins to computers and determines their access to data, applications and printers in the previous issue of Škoda Mobil. The transition to the New Active Directory (NewAD) environment is essential. It will bring more modern user account management, better integration with Microsoft 365 and greater security. This process is now in full swing, and experience has shown that users can rest assured. Users were informed about the migration via e-mail or Škoda Space, and many of them have already completed it.

  The goal of the migration to NewAD is to unify access, simplify work with cloud services and strengthen data protection within the VW Group.

  Carry out the migration in your team step by step

  If you are still about to start, keep in mind that the migration usually takes up to 15 minutes. In exceptional cases, it may take longer. You can keep working on your computer during this time. We recommend that one or two members of every team perform the process first to verify that the applications work properly. It is also a good idea to back up your local files and favourites. The migration can be performed from a computer connected directly to the corporate network or via Citrix Desktop and Citrix VDI remote access technologies. In November, the migration should be available for work from home as well. Once the migration is complete, a new user profile will be created. You will log in using a slightly modified name in the <DZCxxxx>@skoda.vwgroup.com format. The Y drive will be read-only, while other Microsoft 365 services will remain unchanged.

  Behind the scenes of the project

  At first glance, the migration to NewAD may seem like a formal step, but it involves a great deal of work. It was launched at the Group level already in 2016. The migration process development itself took three months to complete and was preceded by an extensive preparatory phase, which included ensuring technical communication between the old and new environments and several rounds of testing. Over 300 IT specialists also participated in group meetings, where important information about the migration was discussed across all the IT departments. Preparations also included detailed instructions and videos to help users complete the process without unnecessary stress.

  In cooperation with the FI – Information Technology department, we bring you an overview of trends and interesting facts from the world of artificial intelligence, which is making its way ever more deeply into our lives.

  Create a book for your children

  Google’s Gemini AI model can create a book tailored to your children. The feature is called Storybooks, and it can be found in the Gemini application among the so-called GEM robots. Based on text input, it usually creates a 10-page book, including illustrations that match the plot. You can choose the illustration style: comic, colouring book or 3D effect, among others. The tool can also read the book aloud. You can upload your own photos or drawings to the file, which the AI will use as inspiration. This allows you to explain to your children, for example, how day and night work, what to expect on their first visit to the dentist or what artificial intelligence is.

  Advice on how to exercise properly 

  Smart gyms using AI are becoming increasingly popular in the Czech Republic. They enable effective and individualised training. Sensors monitor your movements, and machines or cameras in the gym measure how you perform the exercises: how many repetitions, your posture, pulling force and so on. AI recognises errors in your technique and recommends how to correct them. Based on your goals (weight loss, muscle strengthening, fitness), it will also draw up a training plan for you. This plan is automatically adjusted according to your results. For example, it increases the load, adds exercises, or recommends rest. You also receive instant feedback during your workout: “Straighten your back more”, “Shorten your squat”, “Increase the weight by 5 kg”. Some systems display animations or videos directly on the screen next to the machine. Numerous applications, including the Czech Fitko.ai, allow you to compete with your friends or track how your body changes over time.

• Guests from Vietnam discover the Škoda brand

  The carmaker invited Vietnamese journalists and influencers to explore Škoda Auto’s modern development and production, as well as its rich history. In addition to the Mladá Boleslav plant, the guests visited dealerships and attended the Škoda Classic Days event at Loučeň Castle. They also saw Czech landmarks such as Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and the Astronomical Clock.

  Experiences and Insights for Guests from Vietnam

  Prague Castle and other monuments, along with Škoda cars, are undoubtedly among the Czech Republic’s treasures. These were the highlights of the programme for a group of journalists, influencers and other experts who arrived in the Czech Republic in the week of 6–10 October at Škoda Auto’s invitation.

  The Mladá Boleslav–based brand has been establishing itself in the fast-growing Vietnamese market for three years now, and this year, in cooperation with its partner Thanh Cong Group, it began local assembly of the Kushaq and Slavia models. The goal was to introduce the guests to the carmaker’s history, its modern production facilities and Czech cultural heritage. This makes it possible to introduce the Škoda brand to people in Vietnam and build awareness of its products and values.

  The guests were welcomed by the carmaker’s senior management as well. “I believe I’m not being immodest when I say that the Škoda brand is one of the jewels of the Czech Republic and brings pride to its country around the world,” said Martin Jahn, Board Member for Sales and Marketing, at the meeting. He emphasized the exceptionally good cooperation that Škoda Auto has established with Vietnam. It builds on the long-term relationships that the Czech Republic maintains with this country and its people. “We’ve become one of the three best-selling brands in Europe thanks to our diverse range of products that meet our customer needs, thanks to our cutting-edge technology and quality, and thanks to our favourable prices. I believe this will enable us to reach customers in markets like Vietnam,” added Jahn.

  On the first day after their arrival, the Vietnamese delegation met with Board Members Klaus Zellmer (CEO), Andreas Dick (Production and Logistics), Martin Jahn (Sales and Marketing) and Johannes Neft (Technical Development). They held discussions about Škoda Auto, its history, its presence on the Vietnamese market and other topics.

  On the second day, the guests headed to the carmaker’s heart in Mladá Boleslav. They learned about the company’s 130-year history during a tour of the Škoda Museum. In the production facility, they admired the flexibility of the M13 production line, which alternates between electric cars and combustion engine cars. They also visited the M6 line, which enables fully automated production of high-voltage batteries. This was followed by a presentation on Škoda vehicle design in Bezděčín, where concepts for future cars, such as the Vision O and the compact Epiq, were on display.

  The journalists and influencers arrived also at the Loučeň Castle, where the Škoda Classic Days event took place. They could take a ride in historic cars such as the 1939 Superb OHV or even the 1906 Voiturette A. 

  In addition to visiting the factory and seeing Škoda’s production facilities, guests also had the opportunity to explore Prague. They visited attractions such as Charles Bridge, the Old Town Astronomical Clock, and Prague Castle, where they admired St. Vitus, Wenceslas, and Adalbert Cathedral. In addition, the guests enjoyed an attractive view of the capital and its sights from the deck of a boat cruising along the Vltava River.

  No programme would be complete without test drives of Škoda cars. The guests got behind the wheel of the new Enyaq and Elroq electric models and took to the roads around Mladá Boleslav.

  Before flying home, the journalists from Vietnam also visited Prague’s Auto Podbabská dealership, where they learned about the sustainable Green Retail showroom concept and saw Škoda’s sales approach and philosophy in practice.

  Škoda Challenge with record participation

  Representatives from 30 markets took part in this year’s international final of the 14th annual Škoda Challenge competition in Vienna. The competitors completed 59 theoretical and practical challenges divided into 10 categories. In addition to the classic disciplines, this year’s competition also offered new features, such as virtual car painting and working with artificial intelligence. These innovations brought new challenges and showed the direction in which the automotive industry is heading. The Škoda Challenge 2025 international finals were not only a competition but also an opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen global cooperation. 

  After-sales services elevating digitisation

  The VA – After Sales department has taken two steps to expand its digital presence. The first step was the launch of the very first online shop in a foreign market operated directly by the Škoda brand. Since April this year, it has been available to customers in Poland at  eshop.skoda‑auto.com/pl_PL/ , who can now easily purchase original accessories and other products, such as bicycles, realistic car models and clothing. This initiative helps the carmaker to deepen relationships with customers and strengthen brand awareness in the Polish market. In September, Škoda Auto also launched an online shop for the Volkswagen brand in Poland at www.sklep‑vw.pl. The successful debut of both platforms could serve as a model for expansion into other markets.

  Accessories and equipment in one place

  Another milestone in the digital presentation of products and services is Škoda Auto’s new global online after‑sales service catalogue, launched on 15 September. It offers customers worldwide easy access to an extensive portfolio of original Škoda accessories and lifestyle products. Visitors can browse by model, category or keywords and download instructions for many items. The catalogue is available at catalog.skoda‑auto.com/eu/.

  A Great Journey for the Škoda Brand 

  1947 The transformation of the Kvasiny plant from traditional manufacturing to state-of-the-art technologies and extensive expansion.

  The Kvasiny plant was founded in 1934 by František Karel Janeček, son of the Jawa brand founder. Initially, the plant produced the Jawa 700 car bodywork. The Škoda brand’s story began at this plant in 1947, and it got off to a great start. The first car produced there was a version of the Škoda Superb OHV, based on a pre-war design. Between 1947 and 1949, 49 cars were built at the factory in East Bohemia, marking the beginning of a great journey for the brand with the winged arrow on the bonnet. Officially, the Kvasiny plant was nationalised and incorporated into AZNP (Automobilové závody národní podnik – ed.) in 1949.

  In the past, the Kvasiny plant has faced the prospect of becoming just a spare parts factory. Thanks to its precise craftsmanship and a number of turning points, it has stood its ground and is set for major development in the future.

  Over the years, a very active development department began operating there, producing, for example, the Škoda 450 roadster and its successor, the Škoda Felicia, as well as the very popular Octavia Combi and Škoda 110 R Coupé models. The bodies of the highly successful Škoda 200 RS and 130 RS sports cars were manufactured there as well. After the merger with the VW Group, most SUVs (including the Group’s first SUV, the Yeti) and the first-generation flagship Superb (2002) were produced in Kvasiny.

  The plant continues developing to this day: Its automated warehouse for small parts has been put into operation, the carmaker has opened a multifunctional competence and training centre, and its welding shop has been expanded. In 2019, Škoda Auto launched production of its first plug-in hybrid model, the Superb iV, there. Today, the Kvasiny plant produces the Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs, as well as the Octavia. Last year, for example, a total of 248,000 cars rolled off the production lines.

  Škoda Felicia

  Between 1959 and 1964, this model from Kvasiny was one of the most attractive cars in its class. It enjoyed significant commercial success in demanding European and overseas markets but was chronically in short supply in its home country. This model’s chassis were manufactured in Mladá Boleslav, while the bodywork and assembly took place at the Kvasiny plant. However, the production was still manual and piecework, since there was no production line.

  Škoda 110 R 

  The iconic coupé celebrated its exhibition premiere in Brno on 5 September 1970. This timelessly elegant rear-engine sports car was not only a commercial success but also became the basis for the legendary Škoda 180 RS, 200 RS and, above all, the Škoda 130 RS competition and racing models. However, development of the ‘Erko’ began as early as 1966, and the first prototype was completed in Kvasiny in March 1968. Its production, however, lagged significantly behind demand, with only 121 cars produced by the end of 1970. 

  Škoda Superb

  The first modern Superb rolled off its production line at the Kvasiny plant on 1 October 2001, and in the spring of 2002, the comfortable saloon reached its first customers. At that time, Škoda began offering them a lifetime mobility guarantee. The successful era of the first modern generation of the model, marked by several prestigious awards and other achievements, came to an end in 2008. A total of more than 136,000 units were produced. In addition to the Kvasiny plant, they also rolled off their production lines abroad.

  Škoda Yeti

  Škoda Auto unveiled its production version of this model at the Geneva Motor Show on 5 March 2009, and it was already the fifth model series in the range at the time. The public responded positively to the absence of the aggressive design elements characteristic of numerous SUVs. The Yeti model’s series production began at Kvasiny on 12 May 2009.

  Luxury of the First Republic

  During the First Czechoslovak Republic, the Mladá Boleslav carmaker appealed to a wide range of customers, including the most demanding clientèle, with its impressive fleet of luxury models. These cars were used, for example, by President T.G. Masaryk and the ‘king of shoes’ J.A. Baťa, as well as by members of the business and social elite, including the nobility. The premium cars stood out for their top quality, high driving comfort and advanced design solutions such as rotary slide valves instead of conventional poppet valves, shaft-driven OHC timing and compact V8 engines.

  However, the more affordable inline six-cylinder engines became more widespread. Many of them used the quiet Knight slide valve system, replacing the usual valves. This exclusive American technology placed extraordinary demands on machining precision, which is why the licence was granted only to a limited number of leading global carmakers. Its development culminated in the mid-1920s with the L&K – Škoda 350 (see photo) and 450 models. The rich equipment of the five-litre Type 450 model included a compressor for tyre pressure, powered directly by the vehicle engine. 

  At the turn of the 1920s and 1930s, a modern factory for efficient mass production was built in Mladá Boleslav as part of a generous investment programme. The aim was to make cars more affordable, as the price of luxury models ranged from 100,000 to 200,000 Czechoslovak korunas.

  A leisure buggy

  1972 The growing popularity of autocross in the 1960s coincided with a boom in leisure cars, known as buggies. At the Turin Motor Show in November 1972, a two-seater open buggy called the Škoda Kirby attracted considerable attention. This leisure car was the result of cooperation between Motorest, an Italian importer of Czechoslovak cars, and Autozodiaco, a specialist company from Bologna. Both axles and the engine with transmission were taken from the Škoda 100/110 model series without any major changes. With its kerb weight of just 560 kg, the Kirby could reach speeds of up to 140 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 12 seconds. In the end, only two prototypes were built.

  Simona Fryčová recalls her time in Kvasiny

  1981–2024 She joined the Kvasiny plant immediately after graduating from high school, and it took her almost 11 years to get to the Industrial Engineering department, where she worked the longest. She remained there until leaving the company last year.

  Simona Fryčová worked in the Industrial Engineering department after the merger with the VW Group. “It was a newly created department with new, previously unused working methods. That was interesting. There, I was responsible for timing individual operations, and I was also in charge of several workshops and the introduction of the 18-shift system,” says S. Fryčová. It was the preparations for the 18-shift system, which was a big novelty at the time, that surprised her the most. “I had heard about the days when people worked six days a week from my grandmother, and suddenly we were dealing with it in Kvasiny. Surprisingly, the entire new system was implemented smoothly in production,” she adds. In Kvasiny, she also experienced the plant’s expansion and the launch of the first-generation Superb. ”Suddenly, new paint and assembly halls were being built behind the fence, where we were basically starting from scratch. We were working on new lines and started using a range of modern technologies,” she continues. S. Fryčová also recalls these changes. “The technology changes exceeded my expectations. More than 40 years have passed, and our manual tools were replaced by electric or automatic ones. Visual inspection was replaced by lasers in some areas, drawing boards by computer programs... and even the cars are different,” adds S. Fryčová.

  Global mobility as a growth strategy

  Developing internationalisation is a strategic process at Škoda Auto, not only because of expansion into new markets but also with regard to supporting talented people across the VW Group. As part of its so‑called Global Mobility Policy, the carmaker systematically manages the deployment of foreign workers (known as assignees), from their selection and contract signing to the relocation of their families, legal support and cultural integration. “Everyone on assignment brings something unique to the team. They see the world differently, work with different tools and have a different work ethic. When this is combined with our experience, it creates an inspiring mix of ideas and energy,” says Petra Dědková, Expert Coordinator of the STM – Management Care, International Assignments department.

  Internationalisation is not a project with a beginning and an end. It is a journey. And we want everyone to be able to take that journey, regardless of where they come from.

  The heart of a foreign country, the soul of one team

  For many, a work assignment in Mladá Boleslav is a huge step. A new environment, foreign language, different culture – all of this is a challenge for them. That is why the company works to ensure they feel welcome and supported from day one. The STM team takes care of every detail, from securing visas and housing to onboarding, mentoring and family integration. According to surveys, the most appreciated aspects of an assignment abroad are a friendly atmosphere, willingness to help and clear process explanations. “A simple ‘How can we help you?’ makes a huge difference. For someone who’s come from the other side of the world, it can be the most important moment of the entire first week,” says P. Dědková, describing the first steps.

  When your family travels with you

  For many assignees, it is about not only the work experience but a complete lifestyle change. Moving to a new country with your significant other and children requires a great deal of courage and help from the company as well. Therefore, Škoda Auto offers support in finding kindergartens and schools, healthcare and community activities and helps with finding housing and job opportunities for partners. Psychological and intercultural assistance is also available. “When the family feels at ease, you feel good too. And that is the basis for the success of the entire mission,” explains P. Dědková.

  A culture that connects

  The Diversity team from the SX – Transformation department has set itself the goal of ensuring that internationality is not only visible but truly lived as well. “We aim to create spaces where people can connect outside their professional roles, where cultural exchange is encouraged, and where everyone feels that their background and perspective add value to our shared success,” says Karel Kohout, Specialist Diversity at the SX department.

  The Culture Connects series of events, which links experiences from the Czech Republic and abroad, has therefore become part of corporate life. In the past, experiences from Egypt, Spain, India and Mexico were shared. These sessions featured speakers from these countries, as well as the Czech Republic, who have strong personal experience with that country. Such meetings bring not only new insights but also moments of genuine connection. “Culture Connects is a symbol that diversity is not about differences, but about sharing. Each story helps us to better understand both the world around us and ourselves,” adds K. Kohout.

  Support for everyday life

  Škoda Auto’s workforce currently includes people from 51 countries.  The Internationals@Škoda initiative has long supported them, providing a platform for networking, sharing experiences and help in everyday situations so that everyone feels welcome and can bring their whole self to work.   Díly z biokompozitních materiálů vznikají podobně jako karbonové komponenty a mají dostatečnou pevnost i rozměrovou stálost.

  V soutěžních vozech se mohou uplatnit přírodní materiály různého původu.

  Díky své dostatečné pevnosti a schopnosti snižovat vibrace se osvědčila lněná vlákna.

  Vůz Fabia RS Rally2 dokáže nové materiály a řešení skvěle prověřit.

• Oslavy 130 let / skoda-classic-days – fotogalerie

  Na zámku Loučeň měli novináři k dispozici 15 vozů, které ukázaly průřez historií firmy.

  Devět z nich mohli řídit, například model Škoda 110 R.

  Ve třech je svezli zkušení řidiči.

  Tři vozy byly k dispozici pouze pro statické obhlídky, například Škoda Sport.

  Novináři se mohli svézt i v prvním voze firmy L&K Voiturette A z roku 1905…

  ... nebo v modelu určeném pro trh na Novém Zélandu Škoda Trekka.

• Ze světa / Vietnam – fotogalerie

  Model Slavia se dočkal uvedení na vietnamský trh v polovině září.

  Podobně jako v Evropě i zde značka Škoda zdůrazňuje praktičnost vozů a jejich výhody pro aktivní životní styl.

  Uvedení modelu Slavia doplnila i propagační jízda napříč Vietnamem, kterou se Škoda Auto připojila k oslavám výročí republiky.

  Důležitým prvkem výbavy vozu pro vietnamské zákazníky je kvalitní konektivita.

  Slavia je na trhu k dispozici ve čtyřech barvách – šedá Carbon, bílá Candy, červená Tornado a modrá Lava.

• VZOR – fotogalerie

  Studie VISION 7S představuje sedmimístné elektrické SUV s řadou neotřelých řešení.

  V říjnu vyrazil částečně funkční model vozu nejprve do Anglie, k vidění byl v Londýně u Tower Bridge a následně si ho na vlastní kůži vyzkoušeli novináři v Peterborough.

  Následovala také novinářská prezentace studie ve španělském přímořském letovisku Marbella.

  Kola mají průměr 22" a aerodynamické ráfky jsou téměř zcela uzavřené.

  Studie vozu VISION 7S zaujme jak celkovým vzhledem, tak řadou netradičních detailů.

  Interiéru dominuje velká otočná obrazovka s úhlopříčkou 14,6".

  Při ukázce vozu řada novinářů oceňovala jednoduché mechanické ovládání některých základních funkcí.

  Spíše designérskou libůstkou studie je oválný volant. Že by v běžných řadových vozech nahradil klasické kulaté totiž není příliš pravděpodobné.

  Co by to bylo za vůz ŠKODA bez Simply Clever prvků? V případě vozu VISION 7S jde například o magnetické úchyty na mobilní telefon.

  Studie vozu zdůrazňuje přístup ŠKODA AUTO k udržitelnosti. Podlaha a zavazadlový prostor jsou tak celé vyrobeny z materiálu z recyklovaných pneumatik.

• Logistika / projekt-VW – fotogalerie

  Roadshow Vision O začala 13. října v Laurin & Klement Kampusu.

  Zaměstnanci měli příležitost prohlédnout si koncept během tří dnů, poté se přesunul do Škoda Parts Centra.

  Podívat se přišel i předseda představenstva Klaus Zellmer, který obdivoval také historický model Voiturette A.

  Návštěvníci mohli nahlédnout i do interiéru, oproti roadshow nových modelů však nesměli do jedinečného konceptu usednout.

  Nechyběly však oblíbené soutěže o ceny, …

  … ke kterým patřila například udržitelná káva Curiosity Fuel.

  V listopadu a prosinci roadshow pokračuje. Zaměstnanci si mohou Vision O prohlédnout a vyfotit v mladoboleslavském Lean centru, v Česaně a ve Škoda Academy.

• Motorsport / rally – fotogalerie

  Titul mistrů Evropy v rally vybojovala polská posádka Mikołaj Marczyk a Szymon Gospodarczyk s vozem Fabia RS Rally2.

  Seriál mistrovství světa ještě zůstává rozehraný. V kategorii WRC2 ovládli částečně domácí Středoevropskou rally Jan Černý s Ondřejem Krajčou, kteří přesedlali do vozu Škoda v průběhu sezony.

  Třetí místo si na českých, rakouských a německých silnicích zajistili Italové Roberto Daprà a Luca Guglielmetti.

  Vozem předjezdce, který se podílí na zajištění bezpečnosti na trati, byl opět model Kodiaq. Jeho barevná úprava odkazovala na model Škoda 130 RS, od jehož uvedení letos uplynulo 50 let.

  The Fabia 130 offers a sporty look and features for a more enjoyable driving experience.

  The special edition can be recognized by its black-painted elements and black stripe on the trunk lid.

  The sporty character of the interior is emphasized by the three-spoke steering wheel and a number of decorative elements.

  A characteristic feature of the special edition Fabia 130 are the emblems in several places.

  Other eye-catching features include the twin exhaust tailpipes...

  ... and red brake calipers.

  The Fabia 130 also has a black rear spoiler.

  In addition to the anniversary of the carmaker's beginnings, the car also references the Škoda 130 RS sports special, which is celebrating 50 years since its creation.

  The emblem on the Fabia 130 refers to the color scheme of the historic competition special.

• Pravidla soutěže

  Pravidla soutěže ve Škoda Mobilu

  1. Pořadatel Soutěže

  Společnost Škoda Auto a.s., se sídlem tř. Václava Klementa 869, Mladá Boleslav II, 293 01 Mladá Boleslav, IČO: 00177041, zapsaná v obchodním rejstříku vedeném Městským soudem v Praze pod sp. zn. B 332 (dále jen „Pořadatel“), pořádá tuto čtenářskou soutěž (dále jen „Soutěž“), jejíž postup a podmínky upravují tato pravidla (dále jen „Pravidla“).

  2. Doba trvání soutěže

  Soutěž probíhá v době od 7. 5. do 30. 5. 2025 (dále jen „Doba soutěže“).

  3. Soutěžící

  Soutěže se může účastnit každý čtenář zaměstnaneckých novin Škoda Mobil, který v Době soutěže vyplní kvíz a své odpovědi zašle na e-mailovou adresu skoda.mobil@skoda-auto.cz (dále jen „Soutěžící“). Soutěžící se zavazuje uvádět v soutěžní registraci pouze pravdivé údaje.

  Soutěžící mladší 18 let se mohou Soutěže zúčastnit pouze se souhlasem svého zákonného zástupce, který je povinen se na žádost Pořadateli prokázat.

  Ze Soutěže jsou vyloučeni zaměstnanci útvaru GKU jako organizátora soutěže a osoby těmto osobám blízké podle § 22 zákona č. 89/2012 Sb., občanský zákoník, ve znění pozdějších předpisů.

  4. Princip Soutěže

  Úkolem soutěžícího zaslat správné znění Kvízu, Určete pořadí a Najděte 5 rozdílů, které Pořadatel zveřejní v tištěné verzi zaměstnaneckých novin Škoda Mobil (vydání 5/2025), nebo v online verzi novin téhož vydání na webové adrese www.skodamobil.cz. Zodpovězením otázek se rozumí odeslání správných odpovědí na Kvíz, Určete pořadí a Najděte 5 rozdílů na e-mailovou adresu skoda.mobil@skoda-auto.cz. Každý soutěžící může odeslat své odpovědi za Dobu soutěže jen jednou. Ze správných odpovědí budou vylosováni 3 výherci (dále jen „Výherce“).

  5. Výhra v Soutěži

  Výhrou je následující cena:

  3x balíčky reklamních předmětů Škoda.
  

  6. Kontaktování Výherce a podmínky čerpání výhry

  Pořadatel bude Výherce informovat o výhře zejména telefonicky/písemně na kontaktní telefonní číslo / e-mailovou adresu, které Soutěžící uvedl v e-mailu se svými odpověďmi, a to nejpozději do 14 dnů od ukončení Soutěže. S Výhercem se Pořadatel následně dohodne na způsobu předání Výhry. Standardní způsob předání výhry je osobní předání. Podmínkou předání výhry je podpis předávacího protokolu nebo potvrzení o převzetí ze strany Výherce.

  Výhru není možné alternativně vyplatit v hotovosti ani v jiném plnění. Výhra není soudně vymahatelná. Poskytovatelem výhry je Pořadatel. Pořadatel nenese žádnou odpovědnost za jakákoliv rizika a závazky související s užíváním výhry. Pořadatel si rovněž vyhrazuje právo výměny výhry za výhru, která je odpovídající náhradou.

  V případě, že Výherce výhru nepřevezme osobně ve sjednaném termínu, ztrácí na výhru nárok a výhra propadne, aniž by Výherci vznikl nárok na jakoukoliv kompenzaci ze strany Pořadatele.

  7. Pravidla ochrany osobních údajů (v souladu s GDPR 2016/679)

  Vyplněním kvízu a vyluštěním osmisměrky a zasláním odpovědí na výše uvedenou e-mailovou adresu Soutěžící vědomě a dobrovolně souhlasí s Pravidly soutěže (viz tento dokument), což znamená:

  – zařazení do soutěže a příslušné evidence Soutěžících;

  – zasílání informačních e-mailů týkajících se této Soutěže;

  – případné zveřejnění jeho osobních údajů v rozsahu jméno a příjmení na výherní listině.

  Osobní údaje budou uchovávány pouze pro potřebu Soutěže a nebudou využívány k marketingovým účelům.

  Osobní údaje se zpracovávají po dobu od jejich poskytnutí v rámci Soutěže až do vyhlášení výsledků Soutěže, maximálně však na 1 rok od jejich poskytnutí. Osobní údaje jsou od Soutěžícího získávány na základě pravdivě vyplněného registračního e‑mailu (e-mail se správnými odpověďmi zaslaný na skoda.mobil@skoda-auto.cz). Osobní údaje Soutěžícího budou zpracovány ve výše uvedeném rozsahu v elektronické databázi správce osobních údajů, popř. zpracovatelem, se kterým správce osobních údajů (Pořadatel) uzavře příslušnou smlouvu.

  Požádá-li Soutěžící o informaci o zpracování svých osobních údajů, je mu správce a případně i zpracovatel povinen tuto informaci bez zbytečného odkladu předat. Každý Soutěžící, který zjistí nebo se domnívá, že správce provádí zpracování jeho osobních údajů, které je v rozporu s ochranou soukromého a osobního života Soutěžícího nebo v rozporu se zákonem, může požádat správce o vysvětlení nebo požadovat, aby správce odstranil takto vzniklý stav. Soutěžící má právo (omezení zpracování, oprava osobních údajů, doplnění nebo likvidace osobních údajů, podání stížnosti) se obracet na správce na: DPoffice@skoda-auto.cz.

  8. Ostatní ustanovení

  Pořadatel neodpovídá za přímé či nepřímé škody v souvislosti s účastí v Soutěži. Nebezpečí škody na výhře přechází na Výherce okamžikem předání výhry Výherci. Pořadatel není odpovědný za jakékoli technické problémy vzniklé při přenosu dat elektronickými prostředky.

  Pořadatel si vyhrazuje právo bez udání důvodu vyloučit Soutěžícího, jehož chování či jednání vykazuje známky nekalého či podvodného jednání. Osoby nesplňující podmínky účasti v Soutěži nebo jednající v rozporu s Pravidly Soutěže nebudou do Soutěže zařazeny. I pokud taková osoba splní některé podmínky pro získání výhry, např. v důsledku nepravdivých informací, které poskytla, nestává se Výhercem a nemá nárok na výhru. Výhra bude v takovém případě předána dalšímu Soutěžícímu v pořadí. Soutěžící bude vyloučen v případě, že Pořadatel zjistí nebo bude mít oprávněné podezření na spáchání podvodného nebo nekalého jednání ze strany některého ze Soutěžících či jiné osoby, která dopomohla danému Soutěžícímu k získání Výhry.

  Pořadatel si vyhrazuje právo i bez uvedení důvodů Dobu soutěže zkrátit, Soutěž přerušit nebo zrušit či změnit její Pravidla, a to i bez udělení výhry a bez poskytnutí náhrad. Pořadatel si rovněž vyhrazuje právo nahradit ohlášenou výhru předmětem podobného typu a odpovídající hodnoty a upravit podmínky předání výhry v případě, že výhra nebude poskytnuta způsobem umožňujícím předání výhry vítězům v souladu s těmito Pravidly.

  Pořadatel má právo konečného rozhodnutí ve všech záležitostech Soutěže včetně rozhodnutí o neudělení výhry v Soutěži a také si vyhrazuje právo konečného posouzení splnění či nesplnění podmínek stanovených pro získání výhry v Soutěži. Výhru nezískají ti Soutěžící, kteří nesplní byť jen okrajově či částečně stanovené podmínky pro získání výhry. Pořadatel tímto nepřebírá vůči Soutěžícím žádné jiné závazky, a tito nemají nárok na jakákoliv jiná plnění ze strany Pořadatele než uvedená v těchto Pravidlech.

  V případě, že dojde ke změnám podmínek a Pravidel Soutěže, bude toto učiněno písemně ve formě aktualizace těchto Pravidel. Aktuální verze těchto Pravidel je v plném znění dostupná na www.skodamobil.cz. Soutěžící nemá právo na náhradu nákladů spojených s účastí v Soutěži, a to ani v případě změny těchto Pravidel.

• Ze světa / best-dealer-event – fotogalerie

  Akce pro nejlepší dealery se tentokrát uskutečnila v karlovarském hotelu Pupp.

  Účastníky přivítal Martin Jahn, člen představenstva pro oblast Prodeje a marketingu.

  Na setkání dorazilo zhruba 125 účastníků.

  Program zahrnoval i projížďku historickými vozy včetně modelu 1000 MB.

• Vzdělávání / welcome-week – fotogalerie

  Zástupci Škoda Auto, Odborů KOVO a Škoda Academy slavnostně přivítali žáky prvních ročníků SOUs ve Škoda Muzeu.

  Poté následoval jejich seznamovací týden (Welcome week) v prostředí tábora Nedamov.

  Adaptační program byl plný nejen společných her a akcí, žáci zde tradičně navrhovali své imaginární firmy a vozy.

  „Jsem zastánce toho, že každý z nás má právo si jít za svým štěstím, a proto se rád této akce účastním a tím vyjádřím svou podporu tématům diverzity a inkluze,“ říká Peter Podprocký, vedoucí SE – Škoda Academy, který nesl prapor v čele průvodu (vlevo vedle vozu Respectline).

  „Jako matka transdítěte každý den vidím, s jakými výzvami se potýká. Prague Pride je naděje, že naše děti vyrostou ve světě, kde nebudou muset skrývat svou pravou identitu, budou moci žít autenticky bez strachu z nepochopení nebo odmítnutí,“ říká Helena Chudá (vlevo), IT Enterprise Architect FIT/1 – Enterprise Architektura & Cloud.

  „Letošní Prague Pride byl více než jen oslavou – šlo o silný projev spojení, respektu a komunity. Jsem hrdý, že jsem mohl kráčet po boku inspirativních kolegů ze Škoda Auto, 42 Prague, Digiteq Automotive a Škoda Auto Vysoké školy,“ říká člen představenstva za oblast Nákupu Karsten Schnake, který se průvodu zúčastnil.

  Výrazným symbolem festivalu se stal Elroq Respectline s duhovým zbarvením, navržený jako pocta vzájemnému respektu, rozmanitosti a inkluzi. Návštěvníci si ho mohli prohlédnout na pontonu na Vltavě i přímo v hlavním průvodu.

  Nejkrásnější ozdobou byly barvy hrdosti, které obléklo více než 100 zaměstnanců automobilky včetně zaměstnanecké skupiny Škoda Proud. I díky nim panovala během průvodu mezi všemi přátelská atmosféra.

  „Chci stát za svými přáteli i za lidmi, kteří to mají jinak než většina. Přeji si, aby měl každý možnost svobodně rozhodovat o svém těle, lásce a emocích a aby moje děti jednou vyrůstaly ve světě, který je otevřenější, laskavější a bezpečný pro všechny,“ přeje si Simona Batková (vlevo), IT Delivery manager FIP/7 – IT projekty – Technický vývoj.

• Prvňáčci – fotogalerie

  Barunka Gáboríková 

  Naše Barunka v den svých 6. narozenin také nastoupila do prvního ročníku ZŠ. Jsme na ni moc hrdí a přejeme jí jen to nejlepší.

  Klárka Machutová 

  Naši Klárku (vpravo) do první třídy doprovodila i starší sestra Kačka, která chodí do 4. třídy stejné školy, a malý bráška Kryštof, který šel poprvé do jesliček.

  Matěj Macoun 

  Matěj se do školy moc těšil a nastoupil do 1. třídy Základní školy v Sobotce. Nechyběla u toho celá rodina – maminka, tatínek i mladší bráška Matouš, kterého zároveň čekal první den ve školce.

  Nikolka Smolová 

  Do školního roku vykročila Nikolka s úsměvem a z prvního dne ve škole měla velkou radost. Přejeme Nikolce a všem dětem mnoho úspěchů i kamarádů.

  Ayansh Dhamane 

  Na tento výjimečný den jsme připravili dárky podle indické tradice, kde se první školní den začíná požehnáním bohyně Saraswati. Připravili jsme proto učitelům na počest jejich důležité role malý dárek v podobě rámečku se symbolem této bohyně.

  Oskar Láník 

  První velký den v jedné z největších základních škol v České republice byl pro našeho Oskara plný očekávání a nakonec i příjemných překvapení.

  Jéňa Flodrman 

  Syn se strašně těšil do školy, protože školka už prý nebyla pro něho. Uvidíme, s jakým nadšením bude mluvit za pár týdnů...

  Kateřina Paulusová 

  Naše dcera nastoupila do ZŠ v Bělé pod Bezdězem a společníka jí v její velký den dělal i mladší bráška Ondřej. Káťa byla z prvního dne nadšená, a ačkoli Ondra teprve nastupuje do školky, odmítal po ukončení zápisu opustit třídu, kde byla spousta zajímavých věcí.

  Adélka Zbudilová 

  První den bylo velké očekávání – sešla jsem se ve třídě s kamarády ze školky. Byla jsem zvědavá, jaká bude paní učitelka a co nás čeká. Nakonec nám paní učitelka řekla, že dělat chyby je v pořádku, a já se už těšila na další den.

• Škodováci / Miloslav Kozák – fotogalerie

  Ačkoli začal Miloslav běhat až po čtyřicítce, oběhl již celý svět.

  Roku 2011 se v čínské Šanghaji zúčastnil jubilejního 15. ročníku jednoho z nejprestižnějších maratonů na Dálném východě a v roce 2013 se sem vrátil.

  Zažil i specifický maraton na dvou kontinentech. Běžci startovali v Asii a přes Bosporský most doběhli do evropské části Istanbulu.

  O půlmaratonu v indické Púně v roce 2014 se více psalo, z boku do něj narazila posvátná kráva, která se po kolizi povalila na zem.

  V tomtéž roce stihl ještě závod v Japonsku, který běžel s kolegou Pavlem Novotným.

  Závod v Mexiku v roce 2015 vedl v noci kolem lagun s krokodýly…

  ... naopak v Tanzanii běžel s výhledem na Kilimandžáro.

  Zatím poslední závod absolvoval letos v Chile a uzavřel tím pomyslný běžecký kruh napříč všemi kontinenty.

• Akce / wes – fotogalerie

  Hosty Wiring Excellence Summit zaujal vystavený kompletní kabelový svazek vozu Elroq.

  O výzvách spojených s výrobou kabelových svazků promluvil Karsten Schnake, člen představenstva za oblast Nákupu.

  Účastníci si mohli dokonce vyzkoušet, jak se kabelové svazky vyrábí.

  Akce nabídla prostor pro dialog, sdílení zkušeností a navazování kontaktů.
