Oleg Dohalský recalls the renovation of the Škoda 935 Dynamic

1969–2016 He joined the carmaker as an apprentice and, except for his military service, remained there for his entire professional life. He spent most of his career as a technician in the refurbishment department, and from 1998, he worked in the Škoda Museum restoration workshop.

Oleg Dohalský’s career at Škoda Auto was long and very stable. From the beginning of his time at the carmaker, he worked on finishing and correcting cars that, for various reasons, had not been fully assembled on the main line. “This is where the biggest change took place after the merger with the VW Group. The Favorit model was replaced by the Felicia, the car was produced in several variants with different engines,” says Oleg.

In 1998, he took up his dream position as a mechanic in the Škoda Museum restoration workshop. “I’ve always been drawn to old cars, and I restore motorcycles myself. Here, I was able to put my years of experience from my previous position to good use,” he describes.

In the restoration workshop, he participated in the renovation of some unique cars, such as the Škoda 935 Dynamic. “Everything about that car was unique: the engine, the transmission and even the body. We had to figure out a lot of things during the renovation, come up with solutions somehow,” he recalls. The Dynamic was the last project he worked on; he retired in 2016 before its completion.
