FOR ŠKODA AUTO EMPLOYEES
WEARING FACE MASKS
Effective as of 19 May 2020, people in the
Czech Republic are allowed not to wear
mouth and nose masks while working in
offices that are part of their workplace,
subject to maintaining a distance of at
least two metres from other persons.
Effective as of 25 May 2020, people in the
Czech Republic will be allowed to walk
around freely without wearing mouth and
nose protection. However, face masks will
remain compulsory on public transport
and in indoor premises (outside places of
residence). People are not obliged to wear
face masks outdoors, but maintaining
a two-metre distance from other persons
20 / 2020
remains compulsory, unless such persons are members of the same household*.
Before restarting production on 27/4/2020, ŠKODA AUTO adopted a series of over
80 preventive measures (as previously agreed with the KOVO Trade Union) that have
proven to work very well so far. The main credit for keeping the number of
coronavirus-positive employees at our plants at just several cases belongs to all our
employees who consistently comply with the safety measures in place. It is therefore
important to stay careful and comply with the newly adopted health-and-hygiene
rules, as they have proven to be highly effective. One of the essential rules is to wear
mouth and nose protection, and this rule still remains in effect on all indoor
(including offices) and outdoor premises at ŠKODA AUTO. This is true despite
the changes made by the Czech Government, which are effective as of 19 and 25
May 2020. Our compliance with this safety measure significantly helps us prevent
further spread of coronavirus while effectively protecting the health of all of us. Thank
you all for complying with the Employer-adopted measures and thus protecting
yourselves and your colleagues.
NEW VIDEO: PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
Since 11 May 2020, the employees in Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny have once again been manufacturing cars in
night shifts. The company is thus another step closer to normal everyday operations. ŠKODA AUTO and its social
partner, the KOVO Union, have introduced more than 80 mandatory measures to keep staff healthy. Short video
posted by the car manufacturer shows how the precautions have been implemented into daily operations.
