AI World

More than just searching

Smart Search is a platform developed internally by the AI Competence Centre under the FIT – IT Enterprise Architecture & Technology department. It combines full-text and contextual search and uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to deliver more accurate, relevant results. Smart Search can process a variety of queries in natural language and identify the most relevant sources, providing direct links and answers drawn from them. The tool works best with text data, such as knowledge bases, product manuals, technical documentation, internal Wikis or SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), research studies and customer reviews. It can search in MS Word, PowerPoint, PDF (text), txt, HTML, JSON or Markdown formats.

The platform is used by the VAC – Customer Centre department, where it helps the M@US call centre knowledge base staff search for answers to thousands of e-mail queries per month in real time. In addition, it does so in 15 languages, without the need for staff to be proficient in those languages.

In June, a chatbot was launched on the FRK – Accounting of Receivables & Payables department portal, which allows users to view invoices in the SAP system. Customers and suppliers receive real-time information about the due date or amount to be paid. This project is being implemented by the AI Competence Centre in cooperation with VACC (Virtual Assistants Competence Centre) under the FIO/5 – Client & User Support department.

Skoda Supplements

Škoda Mobil, the employee newspaper of the Mladá Boleslav-based carmaker, includes special supplements that focus on especially important topics from Škoda's perspective. Supplements can be a part of the newspaper, in the same format as the newspaper, inserted, for example, in the form of a flyer, or they can be stand-alone unique magazines in a specific format, such as supplements dedicated to new models, the brand's historical anniversaries, or other important information from the company's environment.
