The seventh OPEN TALK discussion about the Group’s principles was held online again

n Wednesday, 20 January, you could watch another in a series of meetings that take place with a live broadcast from the ŠKODA Museum premises. The topic was security measures. More than 80 employees of ŠKODA AUTO and its subsidiaries tuned in to watch. This time, the discussion centred on Group Essential II: “We are honest and speak up when something is wrong.” Topics relating to this principle were discussed by the CEO Thomas Schäfer, as well as Dr. Guido Haak, who is the head of PM – Product Strategy and Modular Toolkit, Jens Katemann, who leads GK – Communications, and Andre Wehner, the head of GG – Company Development and Digitalization. Alois Kauer, the head of the ŠKODA Academy, also joined the discussion. ED

What interested you the most

In addition to future developments and inquiries about ŠKODA AUTO’s activities, including its withdrawal as sponsor of the Ice Hockey World Championship if it took place in Belarus, employees asked about current topics related to diversity and corporate culture.

Do you expect the introduction of such a communication channel between employees and management that would make it possible to discuss topics directly, regardless of the hierarchy in the company?

Have you considered adding the possibility of commenting on and evaluating articles on ŠKODA Space?

Impact of COVID-19 on corporate culture changes

Generation Z

There is talk of the transformation of the industrial into the digital age, where, with the advent of Generation Z (people born between the mid-1990s and 2012), so-called self-governing teams would be operating. Is the carmaker ready for this change?

Škoda Mobil, the employee newspaper of the Mladá Boleslav-based carmaker, includes special supplements that focus on especially important topics from Škoda's perspective.
