PRODUCTION OF BATTERIES

FOR HYBRIDS RESTARTED

Resuming production after the temporary ‘COVID-19’ shutdown requires sticking to a detailed itinerary that is guided by

process steps and the supply chain. At ŠKODA’s headquarters in

Mladá Boleslav, assembly of high-voltage traction batteries

has also recommenced as planned. These batteries made in MB

are used in the SUPERB iV and plug-in hybrid models from other

Group brands. To keep the workforce safe, more than 80

precautions have to be strictly followed. The car manufacturer

has put the measures in place to protect factory and office staff in

the best-possible way and prevent them from becoming infected.

NUMBER OF

THE WEEK

SUPPORTING MEDICS

You can now help the front-line medical services in Mladá

Boleslav, Kvasiny and Vrchlabí financially. On our request,

the NROS (Civil Society Development Foundation)

founded a charity account for a time-limited employee

collection named "Helping medics against COVID-19". It is

supported by ŠKODA AUTO and the KOVO Trade Union.

LESSER-KNOWN

MODELS:

BUGGY &

FELICIA FUN

Throughout its 125-year history,

ŠKODA AUTO has presented

concept cars that are as unusual as

they are exciting. One such vehicle

was the BUGGY Type 736 which

continued the tradition of building

autocross racing cars from the early

1970's. Another fun companion for

leisure activities was the FELICIA

Fun with its eye-catching yellow

paintwork. It also featured a "party

trick" feature that could transform

this 1990's two-seater into

a four-seater in just a few steps.

All episodes of the "Lesser-known

models from ŠKODA AUTO’s 125year history" series were released

at ŠKODA Storyboard

It all started with number 8.

The OCTAVIA (Latin for ‘the

eighth’) was our 8th model with

state-of-the-art independent allround suspension and our 8th

model after WWII when it was

presented in 1959. The

OCTAVIA eventually became

ŠKODA's number one bestseller.

It is offered in 46 countries and

is produced at five plants

worldwide.

More than 7,000,000

OCTAVIAs have left the

assembly lines since 1959.

Now the fourth generation

opens the next chapter of

this unique success story.
