FOR ŠKODA AUTO EMPLOYEES
START OF PRODUCTION OF THE NEW ŠKODA FABIA
AT MAIN PLANT IN MLADÁ BOLESLAV
THE FIRST FOURTH-GENERATION ŠKODA FABIA ROLLED OFF THE LINE
AT ŠKODA AUTO’S MAIN PLANT IN MLADÁ BOLESLAV.
The production facilities were extensively modified so that this latest edition of the popular small car
can be built there; the investments made amount to 110 million euros. For the first time, the FABIA
is based on Volkswagen Group’s MQB-A0 platform, enabling it to be not only the most spacious car
within its segment but also to offer improved comfort features and a wealth of new safety and
assistance systems. The latest FABIA therefore has everything it takes to build on its predecessors’
success. Since its debut in 1999, ŠKODA has delivered more than 4.5 million units of its small car to
customers, making it the brand’s second bestseller after the OCTAVIA.

WHY QUIT SMOKING?
THERE ARE MANY ARGUMENTS
Smoking drains your wallet, even if you are

also for your wallet.
a light smoker. With one pack of the cheapest cigarettes a
day, the average smoker spends around CZK 2,500/month.
That's exactly CZK 30,000/year, which could be a nice
seaside holiday for two, a winter skiing holiday or a language
course for the kids. The same money doesn't have to turn
into dust, but can be easily invested, e.g. by saving regularly.
Time is money, how business people say. And smoking
accounts for a lot of lost time. Minute after minute, searching
for a lighter, you know: "Just a minute", "I'll just head out for a
pack", etc. At 20 cigarettes a day, a smoker spends 4 years of
his life smoking! And this time we are not talking about how
many years of life a smoker loses because of health risks.
Insurance companies can help
Many services are completely free and most smokers get by
without medication. For those who need professional help, for
example, the ZPŠ offers a "quit smoking" program that has
already helpedhundreds of employees at ŠKODA AUTO alone.

BUS WILL TAKE YOU RIGHT
TO THE HALL
Thanks to the carmaker and the
KOVO Trade Union, the city bus
#20 carried employees directly
to the ŠKODA AUTO plant and
transported the first employees
to their workplace on 7/7/2021.
This pilot project offers
a comfortable alternative mode
of transport to employees living
in Mladá Boleslav and thus
improving the traffic situation
around the plant. This project will
also contribute to the reduction
of the CO2 footprint.
We took a closer look at this project
in the July issue of the ŠKODA Mobil.
