Putting out the last cigarette is
a challenge for smokers who have
considered it many times;
many of them have even tried it.
However, the most effective way
is to consult experienced doctors
who know how to get rid of the
nicotine addiction forever. You
can also count on contributions
from health insurance companies.
For example, the ŠKODA Employee
Insurance Company (ZPŠ) has been
offering a programme to help with
quitting, which is paid for by the
Prevention Fund, since 2014. It prepared the programme in cooperation with Eva Králíková, who is the
leading expert in the field, and hundreds of employees have already
successfully completed it at ŠKODA
AUTO. Treatment centres are located in Mladá Boleslav, Mnichovo
Hradiště, Hradec Králové, Trutnov
and throughout the country. You can
also use the help of specialized
clinics. In addition, treatment is not
expensive (especially compared with
what is spent on cigarettes). If you
need professional help, ZPŠ will
contribute up to CZK 1,000 per year.
LETTER TO EMPLOYEES
We hope you had a good rest and stayed healthy during
the summer holidays. It was certainly a well-deserved
break, and it did us all good. We look back on an
intensive and successful first half-year, despite the
pandemic and the semiconductor shortage. We would
like to thank you for your great commitment; it was a
tremendous team effort!
At the same time, we have also taken some important
strategic decisions within the Volkswagen Group in
For the first time in our company’s history, ŠKODA
AUTO is going to be responsible for developing an entire
platform within the Volkswagen Group – the so-called
‘MQB-A0 Global’ platform, which will be rolled out
worldwide. This is a great honour and shows how much
the Group trusts us and relies on our expertise. The
ŠKODA team can be counted on, and we will deliver!
At the same time, we are once again picking up the pace
with e-cars: By 2030, we will have introduced three
more all-electric vehicles alongside the ENYAQ iV, which
has just been launched very successfully, and the ENYAQ
iV Coupé, which will follow at the beginning of 2022.
We fought hard for these at the Group level and
managed to secure them in the end.
This is excellent news for ŠKODA. We urgently need
these vehicles so that we can remain attractive to our
customers – particularly in Europe – and secure jobs at
our Czech sites over the long term.
Due to the extremely strict EU7 emissions standard, the
transformation process towards electromobility is now
accelerating dramatically once again. This means we not
only need more e-vehicles but we also have to let go of
products with combustion engines sooner than
expected. Not least because meeting this emissions
standard is associated with very high costs. We have
therefore decided together to invest consistently in the
future and, in good time, to phase out projects with
combustion engines, such as the FABIA COMBI.
ŠKODA AT SACHSEN CLASSIC
This year, ŠKODA AUTO took part in the ‘Sachsen Classic’ vintage car rally
(19 – 21/08/2021) with five historic ŠKODA models. The route began in Zwickau
and continued through the Ore Mountains to Dresden. The third stage was held
under the banner of ‘120 years of ŠKODA Motorsport’. The participants drove
from Dresden to Mladá Boleslav before returning again to Dresden.
Selected pictures at ŠKODA Space offer an overview of the
different vehicles and the action along the course.
The European car market is now rapidly and sustainably
going electric. That is why we are proud and happy to
have succeeded in our call for more e-vehicles within the
Group. We are making targeted investments in our
future so that we can successfully steer ŠKODA AUTO
through the transformation process. This also applies to
you, dear colleagues. Up until 2030, we will be spending
almost 500 million euros on training and professional
development for our workforce. Let’s continue to work
together on ensuring the success of this exceptional
company. We are counting on you!
