In collaboration with the Technical
University of Liberec, ŠKODA
AUTO’s Technical Development
department has developed a
sustainable, ecological material and
applied for a patent.
The innovative raw material is
made from sugar beet pulp.
ŠKODA AUTO is also researching
another material based on the
reed plant miscanthus. Both could
be used in the interior of new
ŠKODA models in the future, for
example for the door trim and
decorative inlays in the dashboard.
Using a purpose-built OCTAVIA,
ŠKODA AUTO demonstrates the
wide range of possible applications
for the new materials.

ŠKODA AUTO & THE IAA IN MUNICH
ŠKODA AUTO did not join this year's International Motor Show in Munich (7-12 September 2021) due to the ongoing coronavirus situation and
the associated travel restrictions for media and customers. ŠKODA AUTO plans to take part in the next IAA once the pandemic situation has
improved. Despite this, the ŠKODA AUTO brand has enjoyed a great deal of media interest at home and abroad in recent weeks.
Instead, the carmaker organized a special IAA program
in Germany for selected journalists from prestigious
motoring magazines and online portals. The attending
media representatives were thus given the opportunity
to test drive the fourth generation of ŠKODA FABIA
and also the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV in camouflage. Our
ŠKODA Media Lounge was also visited by Volkswagen
Group CEO Herbert Diess. The whole event took place at
a fraction of the cost of the usual autoshow presentation
with a very positive response from journalists on site.
