TOGETHER AGAINST COVID-19
COVID-19 is still active worldwide including the Czech Republic, and we should therefore maintain proper hygiene standards while
complying with all government-issued and Company-adopted health & safety measures. Let's refresh a few everyday basic situations
and actions that we can take to protect not just ourselves, but also the people around us, from family members to work colleagues.
You can always find the latest news and overview of the health & safety measures against COVID- 19 at ŠKODA Space.
JAN VRBA
HAS DIED
AT AGE 83
JAN VRBA, FORMER CZECH
MINISTER OF INDUSTRY
IN 1990-1992 (PICTURED ON
THE LEFT, AT THE TABLE)
DIED LAST WEEK AT AGE 83.
The cultivated and respected
economist was renowned for his
deep knowledge and the ability to
rationally evaluate the situation. He
was one of the main initiators of the
ŠKODA AUTO privatization
through direct sale to a defined
buyer, and therefore not in the form
of coupon privatization, preferred by
some of the politicians back then.
Jan Vrba officially signed the sale
contract of ŠKODA to Volkswagen
Group on 28/3/1991 for the Czech
side. The German side was
represented by Carl H. Hahn, VW
Group Chairman of the Board from
1982 to 1993.
CONTACTLESS
BUTTON AT
EIGHT GATE
EMPLOYEES AT THE 8TH GATE
IN MLADÁ BOLESLAV CAN NOW
USE A CONTACTLESS BUTTON
WHEN CHECKING-IN.
The new addition increases hygiene
standards, and leads to better security
and prevention against the infection. At the
check-in terminal, you only have to scan
the MFA card and vehicle card like you are
used to. Then after successfully scanning all
cards, you just bring your hand closer to the
sensor marked with a hand icon – instead of
pressing the standard button. The standard
touch button remains on terminal and you
can still use it if necessary. The new
contactless button uses a microwave
technology with movement detection.
If this technology proves successful, it will
be installed in other locations as well.

The latest in the Icons Get a Makeover series showcases
a modern vision of another famous ŠKODA model.
Designer Ljudmil Slavov has transformed this iconic car into
a futuristic and funky roadster.
“The POPULAR MONTE CARLO is one
of the most beautiful cars ever made,
and I found its history fascinating as
well. It isincredibly elegant and tasteful,”
says Slavov, explaining the reasons for
choosing this particular icon from the
history of ŠKODA. And no wonder: the
coupé version is a legendary Czech car.
