- Flight through the ŠKODA world- Flight through the ŠKODA world - What’s happening at ŠKODA AUTO - Positive balance even - in times of crisis - Although its car sales and revenues have been significantly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, which has dampened the global economy, ŠKODA AUTO has remained one of the few big companies in the country to generate a profit during the first three quarters. Its operating result for this period amounts to EUR 469 million (approximately CZK 12.5 billion). The number of cars delivered to customers during the first nine months fell by 21 percent year on year to a total of 721,900 cars. The main reason for the decline was the forced production shutdown in the spring. For example, in September, the carmaker delivered 104,600 cars and beat last year’s level by 2.6 percent. Its revenues for the first three quarters exceeded EUR 12 billion (CZK 320 billion) with profitability of 3.9 percent. Similar results were reported by the entire VW Group. The carmaker’s deliveries fell by 18.7 percent year on year to 6.5 million cars, but the operating result remained positive at EUR 2.4 billion (CZK 64 billion). - cars were delivered by ŠKODA AUTO to the Czech market in the first nine months of the year, a year-on-year decrease of 11.3 percent - New faces in management - Dr Johannes Neft (left) will take over as Board Member for Technical Development at the beginning of next year, replacing Christian Strube who is wrapping up his professional career, worked in this position for five years and managed, among others, the completion of the technical development of the ENYAQ iV electric car and the new generation of the OCTAVIA model. Dr Neft, who has a PhD in materials science, has been working for the VW Group since 1999. For the past four years, he has been in charge of Body Development. There will be another big change on 1 January 2021, when the head of GQ – Quality Management, Frank Schreier, retires after 40 years of working for the VW Group. The current head of EG – Entire Car Development, Dr Florian Weymar (right), will take over from him. - Employees strive for zero landfill - The Vrchlabí plant has joined the Nevyhazujto.cz Internet exchange project, which allows people to offer things that would otherwise end up in a landfill in exchange for having them collected. To this end, the Vrchlabí employees are using a new portal. It simplifies the handover communication and has greater credibility, given that everything takes place among colleagues. If no one from the carmaker chooses an offered item within 10 days, the portal will automatically offer it to other users as well. - You can find the Vrchlabí plant’s - Internet exchange for employees at - www.skoda.nevyhazujto.cz. - Construction - Pre-series production background - The construction of a new Central Pilot Hall on the premises of the Mladá Boleslav plant has been completed. The original electroplating plant, which later became a warehouse, no longer served its purpose. As part of the plant’s revitalisation, a new facility was built here. The facility with the new designation, M63, will make it possible to handle new car pre-production requirements, including the production of bodies, as well as entire cars, and their commissioning. There will also be construction tests and analyses, during which the use of virtual reality, digitisation and 3D printing will be expanded. The ceremonial facility handover took place on 2 November in the presence of Dr Michael Oeljeklaus, Board Member for Production and Logistics, and Jaroslav Povšík, Chairman of the KOVO Trade Union. The technology is currently being installed, and commissioning is planned for the beginning of 2021. - Achievements - Great car award - The Austrian Automobile Association ARBÖ awarded the fourth-generation OCTAVIA model in its medium category for cars priced EUR 20,001 to 50,000. The award was received by Max Egger, Sales Director of Porsche Austria (see the photo). The ŠKODA brand’s bestseller won the most votes among the 100-member jury for the first time; the SUPERB model has already won the award on two occasions. The evaluation took five criteria into account: technical design, economy, reliability, environmental friendliness and the price/utility value ratio. The OCTAVIA is currently the best-selling model on the Austrian market. - How they see us - automobilrevue.cz (29 October 2020) - OCTAVIA e-TEC 1,0 TSI 81 kW - Electric OCTAVIA models do not replace conventionally powered variants but expand the offer for customers with various needs. And so it should be. - Lightning-fast responses during accelerations - Natural and smooth drive unit operation - More expensive than a standard three-cylinder, but this is necessary because of the automatic transmission - Group News - Ecological mobility example - The Greek island of Astypalaia will become a model example of the environment served by electric cars powered by renewable energy. VW has reached an agreement with the Greek government in this regard. Car-sharing and ride-sharing systems will also help to optimise the traffic load. The goal is for the current approximately 1,500 cars with internal combustion engines to be replaced by approximately 1,000 electric cars and electric scooters. The project is part of the Go to Zero strategy, and its initial phase will last six years. - Models - ENYAQ iV in the Spanish hills - After the Tour de France, the new fully electric ŠKODA SUV was also shown at the La Vuelta bicycle race. The racers were accompanied in three stages by several of these cars, and one of them served as the director’s Red Car. In the 13th stage, which was the individual time trial, the ENYAQ iV, as well as the winning rider, Primož Roglič, successfully handled the final climbs, sometimes with gradients of up to 20 percent. On the last two days, a specially equipped electric car overcame the challenging terrain to Alto de la Covatilla and crossed the finish line in Madrid. - ŠKODA AUTO helps - lunch menus - were delivered - to healthcare - workers in seven - Czech hospitals with ŠKODA’s support. - Each of the - packages also - included a jersey - from the national - hockey team. - Tasty reward for healthcare workers - The ŠKODA fleet was used to deliver three-course lunch menus from top restaurants to seven Czech hospitals whose nominations were a result of voting on www.skodaautopomaha.cz. The cars were driven, among others, by representatives of the Czech ice hockey team led by coach Filip Pešán, as well as ŠKODA influencers, such as actor Marek Lambora (pictured below) and speed skater Martina Sáblíková. Teams from the U Matěje restaurant in Prague and Koishi in Brno cooked the meals for the healthcare workers. - Dear Readers - The ŠKODA Mobil edition that you are reading right now is marked November/December. - Technology- Technology - Concert to the beat of the EVO - New-generation, more environmentally friendly engines that increase driving comfort are humming more and more often under ŠKODA car bonnets - he improved powertrain, which the Mladá Boleslav carmaker is gradually integrating into its models, primarily reduce fuel consumption and emissions. At the same time, they seem more cultivated and pleasant. The three letters in the name of the new units (EVO) indicate an evolution of the existing engines that ŠKODA AUTO has so far successfully used under the bonnets of its cars. However, the jump is often very significant. - The latest addition is the three-cylinder 1.0 TSI EVO, which customers have been able to choose for the new OCTAVIA model generation since September this year. Subsequently, this unit was added to the offer of SCALA, KAMIQ and KAROQ models. In addition to the four-cylinder 1.5 TSI EVO, the 2.0 TDI EVO diesel and the 1.0 MPI EVO multi-point injection three-cylinder engine have also made it under the bonnet. On this double page, we bring you an up-to-date overview of the EVO family engines on offer. ED - Petrol - EA211 EVO TSI - 1.0 TSI EVO (70/81 kW) - OCTAVIA,
 OCTAVIA e-TEC (81 kW)
 KAMIQ (70/81 kW)
SCALA (70/81 kW)- KAROQ (81 kW) - 1.5 TSI EVO (110 kW) - OCTAVIA, OCTAVIA e-TEC, KODIAQ, KAROQ, KAMIQ, SCALA - The four-cylinder 1.5 TSI engine is a pioneer among the TSI engines in the EVO EA211 family of engines. In 2018, it made it under the bonnet of the previous generation of the OCTAVIA model. Its speciality is the ACT (active cylinder technology) function, which automatically disconnects the two middle cylinders under light loads to reduce fuel consumption. On a technical level, the 1.0 TSI EVO three-cylinder petrol engine is very interesting and now operates in the economical Miller combustion cycle. With this cycle, its suction valves close already during the suction piston stroke, which reduces the effective compression ratio, but the expansion ratio remains unchanged. In this way, the engine achieves greater efficiency. The engine features its turbocharger with the variable geometry of its distribution vanes, which makes maximum torque available even at lower engine speeds. The functional surface of the cylinders of both EVO petrol engines is modified by a plasma-applied surface layer that reduces friction to increase the engine’s mechanical efficiency. The 1.0 TSI EVO and 1.5 TSI EVO engines are also available in the mild-hybrid OCTAVIA e-TEC, whose engine is supported by its 48 V battery-powered starter-generator. - Benzin - EA211 EVO MPI - 1,0 MPI EVO (48 / 59 kW) - Upcoming fourth-generation FABIA - The 1.0 MPI engine is another fixed star in the ŠKODA brand’s offer. Its EVO version arrived in 2018, and its first steps led to the VW Polo and Seat Ibiza models. The new generation of the FABIA model will feature this engine as well. The engine also uses its electronically controlled dual-cooling circuit and continuously regulated oil pump or new pistons, whose rings and crankshaft bearings further reduce friction in the engine. The engine uses the Atkinson cycle, during which the suction valves only close during the compression piston stroke, which pushes part of the mixture extracted from the cylinder back into the suction line. This reduces the effective compression ratio, but the high expansion ratio value (12) given by the cylinder unit’s geometry remains unchanged. As a result, the engine is more efficient and burns less fuel. The development of this unit is fully in the competence of Technical Development in Česaná and is manufactured in Mladá Boleslav. - Diesel - EA288 EVO TDI - 2,0 TDI EVO (85 / 90 / 110/ 147 kW) - SUPERB (90/110/147 kW)
 OCTAVIA (85/110/147 kW)
 KODIAQ (110/147 kW)
KAROQ (85/110 kW)- Last autumn, the 2.0 TDI EVO engine in the SUPERB model launched the offensive in the field of EVO diesel engines. The brand’s facelifted flagship first arrived in its 110 kW variant, but today, the 2.0 TDI EVO variant is about to be installed in ŠKODA cars with an output of 85 to 147 kW as well. While developing their new EA288 EVO series, the designers primarily strove to reduce emissions, improve the torque curve and the engine’s response to the gas pedal and reduce the engine’s noise and weight. Thanks to the application of Twin-Dosing technology for selective catalytic reduction in exhaust gas cleaning, they managed to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions to well below the standard-imposed requirements. At the same time, the engine already features high torque values at low speeds. Its fuel consumption is up to 20 percent lower than with similar petrol engines. This is also aided by the continuously variable oil pressure control and electrically controlled turbocharger with variable blade geometry, as well as active cooling circuit control, including a detachable wat r pump or common rail injection with pressure of up to 2,200 bar. The engine has two design variants: Its 85 to 110 kW versions feature blocks of cylinders made of grey cast iron and steel pistons, while the 147 kW variant uses a block of aluminium cylinders and pistons. - Did you know... - ... that the two-litre petrol engine of the EA888 EVO series is approaching the OCTAVIA RS model as well? It is being developed in compliance with strict emission limits and provides our customers with improved acoustics and reduced vibrations, among others.
- Technology – Testing- Technology / Testing - Engine development and testing - At the Engine Centre, the units are tested in a test zone, which cameras are monitoring for safety reasons. - he introduction of any new powertrains is one of the most challenging issues. In general, the preparation of a new engine design takes approximately four years and, in addition to design work, involves a large number of tests – from computer simulations and the testing of the first prototypes on test benches in the Engine Centre to car driving tests. Specific tests are also performed on individual engine components. At the same time, it is always true that the procedure is clearly defined, and tests are clearly specified by the test catalogue. These include, for example, a 500-hour polycyclic brake station test and a 100,000 km driving test. Before every test, ŠKODA AUTO technicians measure the engines in detail and record the data. At the end of the test, the unit is dismantled and remeasured with subsequent parameter evaluations. Flawless testing is a basic prerequisite to release the unit into series production. The demanding testing aims to achieve ideal engine behaviour under all conditions and, of course, verify its service life and stability of parameters (including emission ones) in the long-term operation. If the engine meets all the parameters, the legislation-required homologation and emission tests follow. - The friction in and the consumption, emissions and weight of the three-cylinder TSI EVO engines are reduced thanks to a new plasma-coated surface layer.
- Anniversary- Anniversary - From the VOITURETTE A to the ENYAQ iV - In December, ŠKODA AUTO commemorates 115 years of car production in Mladá Boleslav - successful Czech company whose foundations were laid before the Christmas holidays in 1895 by Václav Klement and Václav Laurin, has experienced very dynamic development since the very beginning. Shortly after opening their bicycle repair shop, they began producing their own SLAVIA bicycles, and already on 18 November 1899, their wide product range expanded to include motorcycles of their original avant-garde concept with petrol single-cylinder engines mounted at the bottom of the frame. Soon, they were joined by some of the world’s first two-cylinder engine and inline four-cylinder engine motorcycles. The Laurin & Klement (L&K) vehicles were becoming more and more popular among their customers, and the number of significant sporting successes kept rising. - THE FRENCH - WORD - "VOITURETTE" - WAS USED FOR - SMALL AND - LIGHTWEIGHT, - MOSTLY - TWO-SEAT - CARTS. - The first car - The Czech Laurin & Klement brand celebrated the first decade of its existence in 1905 in great style. To free up production capacity for its motor vehicles, it ended its bicycle production while significantly expanding its workshop area: Its 355 employees and 206 machine tools already worked on 9,500 m2. However, the Laurin & Klement VOITURETTE A car was a game-changing novelty, the result of more than five years of development. The car’s main components were designed and produced at the company. Its arrival was first announced in an article by the Viennese Allgemeine Automobil-Zeitung Weekly, which introduced the “voiturette” prototype (a French term for a lower-weight category car, literally a “trolley” – ed.). - VOITURETTE A - In the 1905–1907 period, at least 44 Laurin & Klement VOITURETTE A cars were produced, of which probably only five original copies have been preserved. One of them is part of the permanent exhibition of the ŠKODA Museum. - Practical, comfortable and cheap - The editor of the Czech Sports and Games Weekly, Vilém Heinz, presented the L&K VOITURETTE A to the public in great detail on 27 December 1905. He dedicated the front page and an article entitled “Democratic Automobile” to the new car from Mladá Boleslav. “The Laurin & Klement VOITURETTE A does not have a shallow design. Its appearance is, in one word, cute, its lines are elegant (…). It is a perfect car with two seats (…)”, stated the author, who was well known at the time. According to Heinz, it is a “practical, comfortable, and cheap automobile”. The Laurin & Klement VOITURETTE A model was officially approved for traffic on 18 January 1906 and presented at the Prague Motor Show on 15 April. In addition to its advanced structure, quality workmanship and elegant design, it also excelled in practicality and thanks to its favourable price/performance ratio. Its basic version cost 3,600 kronen, at a time when the car factory worker’s average wage was 2 kronen a day. Gasoline, which was sold by the kilogram in Bohemia, cost 66 hellers – a little more than 1 litre of the famous Pilsner beer. - Attachment - The ŠKODA brand owes its success to the ingenuity and enthusiasm of five generations of ŠKODA employees. Scan the QR code and open the Master Craftsmen attachment, which tracks the development of selected professions from the beginning to the present and shares interesting stories of both former and current employees. - First steps - The “trolley” laid a solid foundation for the Czech brand’s dynamic development. In the 1906–1914 period alone, the sales of Laurin & Klement cars increased more than twentyfold. The offer ranged from two-cylinder models to the FF type inline eight-cylinder (1907) and included countless personal and utility versions, as well as very successful racing specials. The L&K brand gradually developed into the biggest carmaker in Austria-Hungary, and already before the First World War, it successfully reached customers in dozens of markets on all inhabited continents. Since 1925, after the entry of a strong strategic partner, its products have borne the ŠKODA designation. Among other milestones in the company’s development, let us mention its transition from its relatively small product series to efficient assembly line production (1929). A significant step forward was also the brand-new generation of ŠKODA cars with their backbone chassis frame and independent wheel suspension (1934). The POPULAR, RAPID and SUPERB models returned the Mladá Boleslav brand to the No. 1 domestic car position in 1936. - Road to the future - After the Second World War and the company’s nationalisation, the carmaker operated as AZNP (Automotive Works, National Enterprise) from 1 January 1946. Its development continued even in the difficult economic and political conditions of socialism. Its major technological changes included the transition from bodies with wooden components to an all-metal design (1952), which paved the way for the carmaker for truly large-scale production. The famous era of its popular ŠKODA 440 SPARTAK, OCTAVIA and FELICIA cars is followed in 1964 with one of the most modern European one-litre class cars: the ŠKODA 1000 MB, with its self-supporting body and rear engine. The modern Mladá Boleslav factory’s production soon exceeded the magical limit of 100,000 cars produced annually. A major change came in 1987 when the Czech brand presented its timeless design FAVORIT car with its front engine and front-wheel drive. - IN THE NEW - ENYAQ iV, ALL - TRADITIONAL - VALUES OF THE - ŠKODA BRAND - ARE COMBINED. - From local to global - The carmaker became part of the multinational VW Group in 1991, and over the next three decades, it has grown from a local firm with an annual production of fewer than 200,000 cars of a single model line to a globally active company that 28 years later supplied its customers with 1.24 million cars. In 2020, when ŠKODA AUTO commemorated 125 years since the company’s founding and 115 years since the start of its passenger car production, it offers a full 10 model lines, including hybrid and purely electric vehicles. The new ŠKODA ENYAQ iV, which symbolises the carmaker’s electric future, represents the essence of all the brand’s values and combines all of its strengths, such as spirit, ingenuity, design skills, courage and creativity, along with its modern technologies. In November, the carmaker started production on the car in Mladá Boleslav, where not only its main production plant and development centre but also the company’s headquarters are located – just as in the era of the first Laurin & Klement VOITURETTE A automobile. ED - The present of ŠKODA AUTO - This year, it celebrates 125 years since its founding in 1895, making it one of the oldest active carmakers in the world. - In 2019, it delivered 1.24 million cars to its customers worldwide. - Since 1991, it has been part of the VW Group, one of the world’s most successful car manufacturers. In addition to cars, ŠKODA AUTO also independently manufactures and develops components, such as engines and gearboxes, within the Group. - It employs around 42,000 people worldwide and is active in more than 100 markets. - As part of its 2025 Strategy, it is undergoing a transformation from a carmaker to a “Simply Clever company offering the best mobility solutions”. - Current models - It offers its customers 10 model lines of passenger cars: CITIGOe iV, FABIA, RAPID, SCALA, OCTAVIA, SUPERB, KAMIQ, KAROQ, KODIAQ and ENYAQ iV. - Production plants - It operates three production plants in the Czech Republic and produces in China, Russia, Slovakia and India, mostly through Group partnerships, as well as Ukraine in cooperation with local partners. - 1906–1914 - The sales of Laurin & Klement cars increase more than twentyfold, from at least 21 cars to 453 cars per year. - 1925 - After the entry of a strong strategic partner, the production label bears the name ŠKODA and the world-famous logo with a winged arrow. - 1929 - The company transitions from its relatively small product series to efficient assembly line production. - 1934 - A completely new generation of avant-garde ŠKODA cars with a backbone frame chassis and independent wheel suspension marks a significant step forward. - 1936 - The POPULAR, RAPID and SUPERB models return the Mladá Boleslav brand to the No. 1 domestic car position. - 1946 - After the Second World War, the company is nationalised, known from 1 January as AZNP (Automotive Works, National Enterprise). - 1952 - Major technological changes include the transition from bodies with wooden components to an all-metal design, paving the way for large-scale production - 1959 - The production of the first generation of the OCTAVIA model and the FELICIA convertible derived from it, which are also successful in Western markets, is launched. - 1964 - The ŠKODA 1000 MB, one of the most modern European one-litre class cars, follows the famous era of popular Czech cars. - 1987 - Another turning point in the carmaker’s history is the launch of its FAVORIT model with front-wheel drive. - 1991 - The carmaker becomes part of the multinational VW Group. - 1999 - The FABIA, successor to the FELICIA model, has its world premiere. - 2016 - The ŠKODA brand introduces the KODIAQ model and launches an extensive SUV offensive, which continues one year later with the introduction of the KAROQ. - 2019 - At the world premiere, it presents its first purely electric series car CITIGOe iV and the fourth generation of its OCTAVIA model. - 2020 - ŠKODA AUTO starts serial production of its ENYAQ iV electric car.
- Production- Production - ENYAQ iV’s serial production has started - The latest arrival shares an assembly line with the OCTAVIA and KAROQ models at ŠKODA AUTO’s main plant - ne year after the first pre-production car rolled off the Mladá Boleslav production line, the serial production of the new fully electric SUV began on 25 November. The ENYAQ iV became the first ŠKODA production model based on the VW Group’s modular electric drive matrix (MEB). The carmaker will produce up to 350 new electric cars per day on its joint production line for models with the MEB and MQB platforms: the OCTAVIA and the KAROQ. “The ENYAQ iV is the first production model of the ŠKODA brand to be designed from the outset as a purely battery-powered electric car. Therefore, our new SUV places fundamentally different requirements on production processes than any models with internal combustion engines. This is also reflected in the extensive preparations and renovation measures that we have carried out since last summer”, says Dr Michael Oeljeklaus, Board Member for Production and Logistics. - Extensive preparations - To ensure the production of its models with the MEB and MQB platforms on the same production line, the carmaker invested EUR 32 million (approximately CZK 850 million) in essential reconstruction work in Mladá Boleslav. The building’s structure had to be adjusted, and new technologies were developed for transporting parts. They take into account the greater weight of purely battery-powered electric cars and installed components. In addition, ŠKODA AUTO has taken a number of safety measures for battery handling. ED - ENYAQ iV in a nutshell - Our customers can choose from batteries with three different capacities and five power variants to have fun when driving. Our two most powerful car car versions feature a second electric motor. Depending on the battery size, the range of the WLTP cycle can go up to 536 kilometres. A choice of design is also offered for the interior, where the developers used sustainably processed materials, such as natural wool, polyester from recycled PET bottles and leather processed with oil leaf extract without any chemical agents. The ENYAQ iV is also the first ŠKODA model to use a head-up display with augmented reality elements. It displays information about the current speed and recognises traffic signs on two display fields in the driver’s primary field of vision.
- How it works- How it works - Remote Meeting in Virtual Reality - Two ŠKODA AUTO Board Members tried out contactless communication inside a virtual car - irtual reality (VR) is increasingly being used at ŠKODA AUTO. It enables you to do many activities that you will find valuable – and not only when it is essential to curb personal contact. Using VR, Board Members Christian Strube (Technical Development) and Alain Favey (Sales and Marketing) had a business meeting that took place remotely: Strube connected from the Technical Development premises, where David Vaněk, Head of EGV – Prototype Build & Model Making, was also present. And Favey joined from the Service Training Centre in Kosmonosy, where Stanislav Pekař, Head of VA – After Sales, watched the whole process. - “In the past, we saw VRUT 2.0 as a tool for working solutions in the cars that were being developed. Now it turns out that it is also a functional platform, especially effective during the current government actions against COVID-19. So it is a tool that allows us to meet, discuss and communicate with our dealership network and other companies despite travel restrictions, not just in the EU but also across continents”, said Vaněk and Pekař, who, along with their teams, were responsible for preparing the Board Members’ joint meeting. ED - Where VRUT 2.0 can be used - Remote training with a trainer on one end (e.g. in Mladá Boleslav) and a trainee on the other (e.g. in a service centre in Austria). - Remote discussion of team tasks if a personal meeting is not possible. - Cooperation on Group projects.
- FORCE Program- FORCE Program - Visions of - progressive India - The FORCE Program has become an effective tool in India as well - Our goal: - With efficiency and flexibility towards globalisation - Our way: - Simply Clever solutions - Our motivation: - Changing mindset to secure the future - KODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) implemented the FORCE Program principles at its plants in India a year ago. Thanks to the various measures, including more efficient cooperation of workforce, the optimisation of production plans and digitisation, as well as the re-use of packaging material, there has been a saving of EUR 1.74 million (almost CZK 47 million). Production and Logistics is preparing to launch cars under the INDIA 2.0 project and is constantly working towards increasing its capacity. As the entire world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the well-designed measures of the FORCE Program that enabled the production plants in Pune and Aurangabad to initiate the required activities. A total of 80 percent of the measures for 2020 have already been implemented. To spread awareness and to bring employees up to speed with the FORCE Program, each cluster shares how they are progressing towards their set targets in monthly Darpan. This gives the employees, a chance to actively contribute to the program by sharing their suggestions and ideas. It also helps in breaking silos and connecting different teams by bringing them together to work towards the bigger goal. “The coming days will be challenging but the active involvement of our employees can definitely contribute to the vision of a forward-looking India, where SAVWIPL will become a benchmark for others and also act as an engine for the entire industry”, says Mojmír Hájek, head of I-P – Production and Logistics India Region. ED - I am impressed by the teams here in India. Their relentless efforts and commitment have yielded positive results. This is exactly what we’re looking for and what will help us succeed in the region of India. - Mojmír Hájek - Head of I-P – Production and Logistics India Region - Rohan Gupte - I-PSE/1 – Project Management Support - In the diverse Indian market, the FORCE Program works as a great tool that unites people’s ideas and efforts to make the company’s vision come true. The defined measures and the management’s efforts to achieve goals will allow the production facilities to handle all new projects smoothly. I’m grateful to be part of a programme that, through partial operations, leads to profitability, customer orientation, employee development and sustainable growth for SAVWIPL.
- Component Production- Component Production - Pre-assembly has a new line - The production pre-assembly line of gearboxes has increased product quality, made production more precise and reduced the ergonomic stress on employees - he production lines at ŠKODA AUTO are undergoing constant modernisation, such as the one at the pre-assembly of MQ 200 gearboxes in Shop M6 in Mladá Boleslav. The local innovation has accelerated the work cycle of preparing the sets for the main line, is much more flexible than the current process and also contributes to a significant increase in quality. - The original line has been working for about 20 years. Although it has undergone some development, just like the gearbox itself, it has been lagging behind some of the more modern solutions, which are now being deployed in Shop M6. The input and the output shafts are fitted with gears and other parts during the pre-assembly process so that they can be worked on on the main line, where the final gearbox is created. The original pre-assembly consisted of three separate stations. The parts had to be passed between them by hand and were not easy to handle. “The new line has a concatenated arrangement of operations and eliminates the manual handling of partially assembled sets”, says Michal Szmaragowski from PKH/2 – Parts Production and Assembly. In his opinion, workers’ ergonomics has improved, and another advantage is that the robotic handling of sets significantly reduces the risk of damaging them. This has a positive effect, especially on the product quality. - “Several control mechanisms are built into the line. Cameras, for instance, monitor whether the correct sprocket is mounted on the shaft in a particular step. If not, the line stops the whole step. Other sensors check whether a worker has correctly inserted the conforming part”, says Szmaragowski. Unlike pre-assembly in the past, the new line can also handle the preparation of the six-speed gearbox option. Thus, the assembly line can be supplied with five- and six-speed gearboxes, making it more flexible, and the cycle time has been reduced to 29 seconds. ED
- Thing Digitally – RPA- A robot helping with your computer routine - Smart process automation can save time spent on routine administration - ay-to-day work on computers is one of the activities that no company can avoid. However, it can be made easier through process automation, often based on software robots (RPA, robotic process automation – ed.). Robots can use their clearly defined rules to mimic the behaviour of humans using computers. “Automation comes into play when processes are clearly defined and include repetitive rule-based activities. One example is the weekly downloading of data from SAP, constantly copying the same lines from Excel, creating charts or sending outputs to one’s colleagues”, explains the architect of effective SAP solutions, Ondřej Česák from the FIA/1 – Applications – Human Resources, Organisation & Payroll department. - At ŠKODA AUTO, process automation is handled by the Automation Competence Centre, which reviews requirements for the individual departments with its business partner managers. Its analysis helps to make a decision about whether a process is suitable for automation. If so, automated process development, deployment and administration follow. RPA is most often used for process automation; however, it is only one of the process paths or components. The Automation Competence Centre offers a wide range of technologies and always handles its individual cases carefully. “During the solution analysis and design phase, process visualisation tools are used first. RPA tools, data integration or visualisation tools are then used for the solution itself. Other scripting languages may be used for the partial automation of our specific activities”, adds Česák. ED - Robot handling your reports - There are already numerous automated processes across the departments. For example, the FCP – Production and Logistics Control department replaced its manual export of more than 150 different SAP reports and their subsequent routine editing. Originally, this activity took an employee more than seven hours a month. The automated process takes about three hours of machine time. It can easily be launched with a single click from a Web interface. - RPA in Purchasing - The Purchasing (B) area has been collecting ideas to automate processes through software robots since 2018. As a result, BA – General Purchasing set up its supplier registration chatbot to answer the most frequently asked questions immediately. BS – Global Series Management is about to commission its bot, which will compare part prices in contracts created by the Group buyers with those in the contracts of the buyers of the individual brands that use the part (so-called lead and local contracts). The B area employees may come up with more ideas on eliminating our routine activities as part of our “RPA in Purchasing” proposal at IdeaSpace. - Got an automation idea? - If you feel that automation somewhere in your department could help to streamline our work, please contact the business partner manager (BPM) responsible for that area. The manager will then contact the Automation Competence Centre to arrange a meeting. If the idea reaches its initial phase, a process analysis will follow, and the GGP – Process and Organisational Management department will also be involved. The solution will then be designed, developed, tested and deployed. - The list of the BPMs responsible for every area can be found on ŠKODA Space
- Thing Digitally – ŠKODA Space- Password recovery on ŠKODA Space - If you cannot remember your LDAP password, simply click on the Forgot your password? link on the ŠKODA Space login page, enter your DZC and copy the security code from the screen to verify that a real user is logging in. You will receive your password recovery link through either your registered private e-mail or your business e-mail (with the @skoda-auto.cz extension). ED - How do I set up a private connection to receive my recovery link? - 1 - You will personally report your private e-mail for this purpose to the Human Resources department, and you can also provide your private telephone number here (it will be used, for example, to view your electronic payroll). - 2 - You will ask your immediate supervisor, who can enter both data points (private e-mail and telephone number) into the system via the KOMPAS platform. Alternatively, if you are an indirect area worker and have this option, you may edit the data yourself.
- Thing Digitally– Smart App- @SMART Application - In November, the completion of the Excel trace form was completely replaced by the @SMART COVID-19 application. - COVID-19 registration system - On 3 November, ŠKODA AUTO changed its method of reporting and recording contact with the COVID-19 infection or the manifestation of related symptoms in people who work with the carmaker – that is, its employees, agency workers, external experts with access to the ŠKODA AUTO premises and students (both the SOUs and ŠKODA Auto University). The original Excel form was completely replaced by the new @SMART COVID-19 Application, which greatly simplifies and streamlines the entire tracing process. In addition, it can send SMSs and e-mails with instructions to the infected or potentially infected person, as well as immediate supervisors and other stakeholders. Thanks to this, every employee will always know how to proceed. At the same time, it is a valuable tool for ŠKODA AUTO since it provides a clear and up-to-date overview of the spread of the disease at the car manufacturer, strictly in line with the GDPR. ED - You can access the @SMART Application here.

- China- China - Where ŠKODA cars are produced in China - The four production locations of partner company SAIC VOLKSWAGEN - he most populous country in the world has been our largest market for the past 10 years. The ŠKODA brand offers the SUPERB, OCTAVIA, RAPID and RAPID SPACEBACK on the market, as well as three SUVs (KODIAQ, KAROQ, KAMIQ) and modified versions with sporty bodies (KODIAQ GT and KAMIQ GT). In China, the carmaker operates through its joint venture, SAIC Volkswagen, which is based in Anting, a suburb of Shanghai. The cars of the Czech brand are manufactured alongside Volkswagen models in four Chinese cities. Let’s get to know them together. ED - The market in China remains a major challenge. We want to have solid ground under our feet - and make full use of both our own and local potential. - Thomas Schäfer - Chairman of the Board at ŠKODA AUTOŠKODA AUTO - Nanjing - The former capital of many dynasties and kingdoms is one of the centres of Chinese culture, education and research. The production of Czech cars has the longest tradition here. - Start of operation: April 2008 - Models produced: SUPERB, KAMIQ, KAMIQ GT - Ningbo - This city has one of the busiest ports in the world, and the local production plant can boast of a major milestone: In July this year, the 3 millionth ŠKODA car rolled off the production line in China. It was a KAROQ. - Start of operation: October 2013 - Models produced: OCTAVIA, KAROQ - Yizheng - It is the smallest of the Chinese plants where ŠKODA cars are made. The city of 600,000 inhabitants lies on the banks of the world’s third-longest river, the Yangtze, near Nanjing. It was here that the carmaker produced its 1 millionth car in China in July 2013. - Start of operation: July 2012 - Models produced: RAPID, RAPID SPACEBACK - Changsha - The history of this inland city, which is now one of the fastest-growing in the world, dates back over 3,000 years. By contrast, it has the newest Group plant producing ŠKODA cars in China. KODIAQ, the largest brand's SUV, can be seen here "disassembled" into parts – see photo above. - Start of operation: May 2015 - Models produced: KODIAQ, KODIAQ GT - Paying a virtual visit - Journalists were given an opportunity to look into the production of ŠKODA cars with an interactive tour - isitors could use the innovative arrangement to walk through the factory as if they paid a visit in person and could meet local experts face to face. The journalists could click through to various locations where the experts introduced their sections. One of the modern production plants manufacturing ŠKODA cars is located in Changsha. Visitors on the virtual tour learned about the KODIAQ production line. They had a look at the unique presses giving shape to the contours of this SUV’s elegant body, how extremely durable paint is applied and how laser welding takes place. Journalists and other interested visitors saw first-hand that every production step is monitored by a number of smart solutions with the strictest quality standards applied. By entering their telephone numbers, interested visitors can continue to have access to the virtual tour, which uses the environment of the Chinese social media platform WeChat. ED
- At a New Address- At a New Address - Robert Wielgoss - Head of Project Management and Pre-Series Component Centre (PKV) - My own path - In 2002, as a graduate mechanical engineer, I joined Volkswagen’s component manufacturing plant in Kassel. My last position was as head of the hardening shop for gearbox parts. After years in production, I was looking for something new and different. I was attracted to the opportunity to learn first-hand how the world of automotive components is changing. That was why I gladly seized the opportunity to complete a three-year job assignment at ŠKODA AUTO in Mladá Boleslav. I arrived last year in May, and since then, I’ve been heading our department, which manages all the component production projects both in the Czech Republic and abroad. We are also in charge of the strategic management of the process of transformation. - 556 - away from his home in Kassel, Hessen, in the heart of Germany - In the Czech Republic, I live in a beautiful spot near Mladá Boleslav. - Expectations met - My current job cannot be compared at all to what I used to do at Volkswagen. This is exactly the challenge I was looking for. Together with other departments in the Component Production area, we’ve introduced new conventional and battery drives this year. Our other great task for the next year is the production of MEB batteries for our new ENYAQ iV model. - Proud of the brand and tradition - Already when I arrived in the Czech Republic for the first time for my job interview, I had a good feeling that has not left me. I’m gradually discovering what people’s priorities are here and that they are very friendly and always willing to help. And at the car factory, I feel the employees’ great pride in the brand they work for and what they’ve achieved. I enjoy being a part of all this, at least for a while. - Czech Republic from the sky - In my free time, I do many of the same activities that I enjoy at home in Germany. South Bohemia has one of the largest European centres for skydiving, which is my big hobby. - Outdoor adventures - I’m very pleased that there are so many beautiful places around Mladá Boleslav. I love my outdoor adventures, including the nearby Bohemian Paradise, for example.
- Green Future- Green Electricity - Service centre in Kosmonosy has a 100 percent clean source of electricity - t the Kosmonosy premises, the carmaker, in cooperation with ŠKO-ENERGO, has installed a rooftop photovoltaic system and battery storage to retain the electricity that is produced. The entire system was built between April and December 2019 as part of the Installation of the Low-Carbon Technology project, and the total costs were over CZK 28 million, of which the EU structural funds subsidies covered more than CZK 17 million. The solar panels cover the roofs of five buildings on the premises. In addition, a completely new facility was built – a parking lot called the Carport, whose roof is completely covered with panels. - Thus, the ŠKODA AUTO Kosmonosy premises’ charging infrastructure is based on energy from renewable sources. The carmaker's goal was to offer not only its environmentally friendly car technology but also alternative drive with a minimal carbon footprint – that is, zero CO2 emissions in the production of electricity and the operation of electric cars. The electricity obtained from the solar panels will be used both for the operation of the premises, mainly the car servicing facility, and for electric car charging. In addition, the energy accumulation system will contribute to the greater stability of distribution systems and prevent sudden fluctuations in energy production and consumption. Any unused energy can be stored for future use or can even be used to drive operations in case of any external power supply failure. “The amount of electricity produced in this ecologically clean way covers almost 25 percent of the total consumption of our premises”, says Alena Chromcová from VAD – Business Development After Sales. “This represents the total savings we expect from the project – with production at 450 MWh, it is just over CZK 1.2 million a year”, she adds. These promising amounts of savings, of course, encourage one to follow. According to Pavel Grmela from PSU – Ecology and Occupational Safety, the carmaker expects to install further solar panels mainly on its newer buildings because the older factory halls’ roofs are not very suitable. - Ecological charging - Our “green” electricity will be used to charge electric cars both inside our premises, where it will be used mainly by our car servicing facility workers and employees with their company cars, and outside. “Outside of our premises, we have our four powerful 150 kW DC chargers and four 2 × 11 kW standard AC ones, which are also intended for public use. During the day, they are mainly used by our visitors, business partners and service training participants. In case of any available capacity, anyone can use our charging service while our parking lot is open. In this case, drivers pay with their smart phones”, explains A. Chromcová. ED - Project details - Title: - Installation of the Low-Carbon Technology on ŠKODA AUTO’s Kosmonosy premises, co-financed by the European Union - Description: - The project includes the installation of a photovoltaic system with an output of 441 kWp, combined with energy accumulation based on a battery system with a capacity of 616 kWh and an output of 570 kW. - Implementation period: - 26 April 2019 – 4 December 2019 - Total expenses: - CZK 28,398,057.61 - EU subsidies: - CZK 17,038,834.56 - European Union - European Regional Development Fund - OP Enterprise and Innovation for Competitiveness - Zero Waste to Landfill certification - KODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited’s (SAVWIPL) production plants in Pune and Aurangabad have received high marks for their sustainable development. They can re-use the vast majority of their waste materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. They were bestowed upon Zero Waste to Landfill sites platinum certification from TÜV Nord, the world leader in auditing, certification and testing. Overall, the Pune plant has recovered a total of 98.42 percent of its waste, while Aurangabad plant a full 99.99%. With this achievement, SAVWIPL inches towards its ambition of becoming a carbon-neutral company in the second half of the current decade as part of the Go To Zero initiative. ED - In addition to the RAPID model, which is produced in Pune, and the OCTAVIA, SUPERB, and KODIAQ cars, which come off the production lines in Aurangabad, there is also a new SUV designed exclusively for the Indian market. It is modelled on the VISION IN study. - How does SAVWIPL handle waste in India - After filtration, waste materials from the paint shops are re-used for energy production or heating - Re-use of paper shipping boxes for spare parts business
- Together4Integrity – Statistics- Together4integrity - Negligence halts production - Adhering to the rules protects all the employees - t is absolutely essential for the VW Group that the company, its employees and business partners not be harmed. This can only be ensured if everyone behaves fairly, complies with the legal regulations and keeps in mind that the customer always plays a key role. Once every six months, the VW Group publishes its figures on rule violations and imposed sanctions. One example of such a transgression in one of the Group companies follows below. - Unauthorised grilling - Even a small breach can have serious consequences and cause the employer to impose sanctions. A group of employees learned about this first-hand, as they decided to organise a barbecue in the middle of one of the VW Group’s production plants. Although such an event can strengthen the team, it also breaks the rules because having an open fire on Group premises poses a security risk and is, therefore, prohibited. In addition, the smoke from the grill triggered a fire alarm followed by an immediate evacuation of the plant and firefighters being called. As a result, the unauthorised grilling temporarily halted production, and the plant was unable to meet the planned production level. The offenders were subjected to a verbal formal warning and fine. ED - Torsten Starke - Head of Fire Prevention at the VW Group - Open flames or any use of personal electrical equipment can cause a fire and endanger the lives of our colleagues. Therefore, both of these activities are prohibited without the express consent of the Occupational Health and Safety department or the local fire protection organisation. - The Group’s instructions are summarised in the Plant Security Brochure. - Current Statistics - In the first six months of 2020, the VW Group issued 1,194 reprimands and written warnings in 62 companies with more than 1,000 employees each. These companies, including ŠKODA AUTO, have a total of approximately 477,000 employees. Because of their illegal behaviour, 317 were laid off for the following reasons: - 123 - NON-OBSERVANCE OF WORKING HOURS (E.G. UNAUTHORISED ABSENCES) - 43 - TORT/FRAUD, INCLUDING INCITEMENT - 40 - OTHER VIOLATIONS OF LABOUR LAW REGULATIONS (E.G. CODE OF ETHICS, TRAFFIC REGULATIONS) - 33 - VIOLATION OF THE BAN ON ALCOHOL AND DRUG USE - 30 - NON-FULFILMENT OF WORK DUTIES - 17 - DISRUPTION OF THE WORK ENVIRONMENT (E.G. ASSAULT, THREATENING BEHAVIOUR OR RUDE SPEECH) - 11 - VIOLATION OF THE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS - 10 - SEXUAL HARASSMENT - 4 - DISCRIMINATION, BULLYING, PERSECUTION - 3 - VIOLATION OF THE PRINCIPLES OF PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION AND CONFIDENTIALITY PROVISIONS - 2 - DAMAGE TO THE COMPANY’S REPUTATION OR UNAUTHORISED SECONDARY GAINFUL ACTIVITY - 1 - Acceptance of disproportionate advantage, corruption, conflict of interest (e.g. misuse of confidential information)
- Stimmungsbarometer- Stimmungsbarometer - How we voted this year - The results of the Stimmungsbarometer survey show an improved mood - t the end of September and in the first half of October, you cast your votes in our employee satisfaction survey. The VW Group has automatically processed all the participants’ responses. A summary of your answers concerning your team’s satisfaction over the past year can be found in the Results section of the Stimmungsbarometer application, which is accessible from ŠKODA Space. You can review the specific results, as they are accessible to all the employees. Over the next few months, your supervisor will present them to you as well. This step is mandatory in all of our teams. You can also comment on the questions or contents of our discussion on the results by adding your post to our “Noticeboard”. A brief summary of the vote can be found in the infographic above. - Voting at our other companies - This year, our colleagues from ŠKODA AUTO Deutschland, ŠKODA AUTO Slovakia and ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab, as well as employees from ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited, also took part in our survey. In India, participation reached a record 99 percent. Employees of the Pune and Aurangabad plants mostly answered from home, but for those who were physically present in the factory had the opportunity to use the polling facility. ED - Questions and tips - Who will discuss the results? - All the teams, regardless of whether their team results reports were generated or not. - What is the deadline for the discussion of the results? - The current deadline is 31 March 2021. - How do I get access to the Stimmungsbarometer application via links to ŠKODA Space? - For information on how to reset your password, see page 13 in this issue of ŠKODA Mobil. - Has a supervisor and direct subordinates report (LuD report) been created for your team or not? - If the total index of all the questions in the results report for your supervisor and direct subordinates did not reach 79 points, you are obliged to define two measures on topics on which you agree in your team. The same point limit applies to the Policy Indicator report. If your result is below this limit, you must discuss the VW Group Policy and confirm this step by entering a measure via the Suggestions function.
- Azubi Car- Azubi Car - SLAVIA in the English hills - British journalists tried out our new student car on an attractive track - he proving ground in Millbrook, UK, is one of the largest and most traditional of its kind in Europe. Several episodes of the Top Gear television show have been filmed here, and so was part of the Bond film Casino Royale. Now, the SLAVIA student concept has demonstrated itself in this environment. This year, the SLAVIA concept was built by 31 students from the Secondary Vocational School of Engineering, which belongs to the ŠKODA Academy. The two-seat spider based on the SCALA model won over the British journalists on exclusive test drives. They praised the car’s original design, great workmanship and high level of detail. Owing to the large area of the premises, the whole event could take place with appropriate social distancing and in compliance with all the anti-COVID-19 infection measures. - 80 - kilometers north of London is Millbrook Proving Ground - 26% - Is the gradient that the car had to overcome on the steepest climb of the track - 6.5 - kilometres is the length of the Hill Route test track at the Millbrook proving ground where journalists tested the SLAVIA concept car - Our students’ top work - The SLAVIA concept is further proof of the high quality of education that the carmaker provides to the younger generation. The Azubi Car Project was created seven years ago, and since then, our students have introduced a brand-new, immediately recognisable car every year. This time, they joined the celebrations of the carmaker’s 125th anniversary. Václav Laurin and Václav Klement started with repairs and, shortly afterwards, with the production of their own bicycles, which they sold under their SLAVIA brand. During the construction of their concept, the students had to deal with extensive body modifications – they strengthened the floor structure, removed the roof, welded the rear doors and designed a special aerodynamic cover for the rear part of the car. They paid a lot of attention to a number of details. Therefore, the concept was supplemented by dynamic ambient lighting in blue, red and white, as well as the rear ŠKODA sign, which also serves as the brake and reverse light. At the same time, they could rely on support from experts in Technical Development, as well as Production and Logistics, among others. Because they did everything during a period when the anti-coronavirus measures were in force, they had to limit their meetings and deal with a number of issues remotely. ED

To zajišťuje vyšší bezpečnost dat, sjednocuje přístupy a usnadňuje práci s cloudovými službami.
- Customers and AI take centre stage- One of the year’s biggest internal events, the MMK management conference, was held for the first time at the spacious Křižík Pavilions on the Prague Exhibition Grounds under the slogan “Take Charge – Shaping the Next 130 Years”. The event aimed to strengthen corporate culture, gather direct customer feedback, expand knowledge of artificial intelligence and develop modern management methods.
- Slavia reaches the Vietnamese market- Three years after Škoda Auto and Vietnam’s Thanh Cong Group formed a strategic partnership, the Czech brand is winning over local customers. This year, it began offering not only European models but also locally produced cars developed in India. Following the Kushaq SUV’s launch in June, the Slavia saloon arrived in September, setting a new benchmark in its segment.
- Against the wind- In the next part of our series marking 130 years of car manufacturing, we look at the development of aerodynamic cars. Long before World War II, the company was already introducing models such as the Škoda 935 Dynamic and Škoda Rapid 1500 OHV. Today, smooth airflow helps reduce fuel consumption and noise, so aerodynamics is carefully considered in every detail of all models.
- Zákazník i AI v centru pozornosti- Jedna z největších interních událostí roku, manažerská konference MMK, se nesla v duchu hesla Take Charge – Shaping the Next 130 Years a poprvé se konala ve velkorysém zázemí Křižíkových pavilonů na pražském Výstavišti. Cílem bylo posílit firemní kulturu, předat si přímou zpětnou vazbu od zákazníků, prohloubit si znalosti v oblasti umělé inteligence a rozvíjet způsob moderního vedení.
- Škoda Classic Tour through employees’ eyes- Despite rainy weather, a record 237 historic cars lined up for this year’s vintage and youngtimer rally. Four participants shared their impressions, and highlights included a stop at the FabLab, where a robot served drinks, and a drive across the new L&K Bridge. An interview with one organiser explains why driving through the factory is an essential part of the route.
- Vision O presents the estate car of the future- At the beginning of September, Škoda Auto unveiled its Vision O electric estate car concept. It takes the Modern Solid design language to the next level and introduces new interior architecture with innovative sustainable solutions. The designers placed maximum emphasis on functionality and the car’s users, while also anticipating the advanced applications of AI and autonomous driving.
- The affordable Epiq is revealed- The Škoda Epiq urban electric crossover made its debut as a show car. Together with its sister models from the VW Group, it will enter production next year in Spain. Its price will be comparable to the Kamiq in many markets. The car combines minimalist and functional design with robustness and, despite its compact dimensions, provides a boot capacity of 475 litres.
- The Favorit ushered in a new era- The next episode in the series marking the 130th anniversary of the Mladá Boleslav–based company focuses on the Favorit model, which was unveiled in September 1987. The modern hatchback with Italian styling offered, for example, an exceptionally large boot – an advantage that has characterised Škoda cars ever since. Its competition version also achieved success in rallies.
- A quarter of a century with Tomáš Kotera- Tomáš Kotera, Head of GKU – Corporate Communications, has witnessed the premieres of numerous models, a managerial posting in China and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic during his 25 years at the carmaker. In an interview, he reflects on this period and highlights memorable moments and the colleagues he has worked with. He considers what makes Škoda Auto and its employees so distinctive.
- Škoda Powers a Thrilling Race- The 112th edition of the Tour de France ended with the final stage finishing on the Champs-Élysées. The Škoda Design department once again created trophies for the overall champion, Tadej Pogačar, the winner of the points and mountain classifications, and the best young rider. Škoda was also the sponsor of the green jersey and the supplier of almost 220 electric cars for the organizers' needs.
- Combustion or Electric – We Offer the Best- Škoda Auto is celebrating its 130th anniversary at a time when the automotive industry is undergoing its greatest transformation yet. . Klaus Zellmer, Chairman of the Board, explained how the company is handling this change in an interview. In it, he presented the updated Next Level Škoda Strategy and outlined the range of models that will secure Škoda Auto's future.
- Paperless office- Since Škoda Auto launched this project, the total volume of printouts and paper forms has been declining. A large part has been digitized, and some have even been eliminated. Paper documents remain only where there is a legal requirement. And although the entire car manufacturer has been involved in the digitization process, there is still a long way to go before achieving a completely paperless office.
- Cars from the Foothills of the Krkonoše Mountains- This regular column dedicated to the company's 130th anniversary and events that took place in August focused on the types of cars that the Vrchlabí plant produced before it was transformed into a gearbox factory. Did you know, for example, that it became the birthplace of countless commercial vehicle derivatives, including ambulances, or that luxury cars intended for export were produced there?
