Did you know...

... that the very first ENYAQ iV already rolled off the M13 production line almost a year ago, on 13 November 2019? The picture taken on that occasion was stored in a safe, and we can only publish it now, after the car has been officially introduced.

News from the group

BETTER THAN THREE YEARS AGO

Independent Compliance Monitor Larry D. Thompson has confirmed that the VW Group complies with its obligations under its agreement with the US Department of Justice. This was part of dealing with the problem of measuring emissions from diesel engines. The main condition was to introduce compliance program in order to detect and prevent any breach of anti-fraud and environmental laws. According to Thompson, the VW Group has become a better company than it was three years ago. At the same time, its management is committed to continuing efforts to enhance its corporate culture and processes.

AERODYNAMIC JEWEL

Volkswagen has unveiled the design of its first fully electric SUV, the ID.4. It builds upon a distinctive face of the car, aligning it with graceful organic shapes and top aerodynamic properties. The resistance factor has been reduced to an excellent value of 0.28, which allows for a driving range of more than 500 km. Similarly to the ENYAQ iV and VW ID.302, this novelty will be constructed on the Group’s modular platform for MEB electric vehicles.

SAVWIPL contributes to India’s recovery

The state of Maharashtra, which has two SAVWIPL plants and an administrative centre, is one of India’s areas that have been affected the most severely by the COVID-19 pandemic. Measures against the spread of the coronavirus have hit the country’s economy very hard. However, the local automotive sector is showing signs of an improving economic situation. SAVWIPL has recorded an increase in car sales in August for the third month in a row and supplied customers with 15 percent more vehicles than expected. The company’s year-on-year comparison reveals a sales increase of a full 17 percent. The positive figures are due to the resumption of production in June and new models, as well as the company’s adaptation to the emergency situation with an emphasis on digitisation. Services

New partnership

The ŠKODA AUTO DigiLab has started to cooperate with the railway and bus operator RegioJet. Cleverly connecting their services, the partners provide passengers in the Czech Republic who do not have their own car the opportunity to travel comfortably. RegioJet travellers have the BeRider electric scooter or a car from the HoppyGo carsharing platform at their disposal to drive to or from the station.

FIFTY YEARS HAVE PASSED SINCE THE PREMIERE OF THE LEGENDARY ŠKODA 110 R COUPÉ. THIS SPORTS CAR WAS MANUFACTURED AT THE KVASINY PLANT BETWEEN 1970 AND 1980, AND THE DERIVED MODELS HAVE BECOME MOTORSPORT ICONS.
