INTERVIEW WITH BOHDAN WOJNAR, BOARD MEMBER FOR HUMAN

RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

TOP Responsible Leader

2017 Award, having been

elected by public voting. At ŠKODA AUTO he has been active in creating a social programme aimed at

supporting the fully fledged working

lives of employees.

strengthening the budgets and increasing the number of implemented projects.

Congratulations on winning the

recent award! What persuaded

people to vote for you?

Our company strategy is based on

four global priorities focusing on traffic safety, technical education, wheelchair accessible mobility and care

provided to handicapped children.

Moreover, we are working on two regional priorities, namely caring for

employees and providing support to

regions. But this is not all. Our Green

Future strategy enables us to take care

of the environment. We also support

a number of other cultural and sports

activities. Our primary target is strategic social responsibility, which is a

principle according to which activities

are directly related to car manufacturing, tangibly fulfilling both social and

I feel truly happy about winning the

prize. However, the recognition belongs, first of all, to all those who are

engaged in the social responsibility

area at ŠKODA AUTO. What my position means to me is not only great

responsibility but also an exceptional

opportunity to have a positive influence on society. In my work, I try to

create conditions enabling us to develop social responsibility within the

company in the best possible way.

Among other things, it means fostering social responsibility awareness,

economic criteria. Nearly all our employees are familiar with our long-term

project, “One tree planted for every car

sold”, thanks to which almost 730,000

trees have been planted in the Czech

Republic. This is an impressive example of linking social responsibility with

environmental protection and regional

support. In the future, we are planning

to extend the ŠKODA Trees project

abroad and focus on regions where

our production plants are located.

You have been actively engaged

in the creation of the employee

social programme for the past

seven years. What progress have

you made so far?

ŠKODA AUTO is making every effort

to provide its employees with benefits that are sufficiently motivating to

deliver first-rate performance and to

sharpen a sense of belonging to society. Our employees may use a number of social and health benefits; they

also have a wide range of products

and services at their disposal. We

regularly upgrade the range of benefits together with our social partner

the KOVO Trade Unions and try to

respond not only to the demand but

also to society-wide changes, trends

and requirements of current and new

employees. Last year, for example, we

introduced the possibility of mobile

work that has proved successful. Another innovation is the newly negotiated programme of our mobile operator offering attractive data services.

The November issue of ŠKODA

Mobil brought a report on

Sheltered Profile Centres. What

do you think is the contribution

of this project?

Such workplaces have been in place

at ŠKODA AUTO for more than 15

years. This is actually one of the best

social projects in the Czech Republic

and was initiated by the KOVO Trade

Unions. ŠKODA AUTO feels a strong

sense of responsibility towards the
