First Half of Year Brings Excellent Results

Škoda Auto has enjoyed a successful first six months of the year. Despite ongoing challenges in the market, it managed to deliver 448,600 cars to customers, more than in the same period last year. The most significant growth was recorded in Western Europe, particularly in the key German market. The Octavia confirmed its status as the bestseller, with sales increasing by 24.1% compared with the first half of the previous year. Thanks to these results, Škoda has become the fourth best-selling car brand in Europe for the first time in its history. The financial indicators are also encouraging. The operating profit for the first half of the year rose by more than a quarter to EUR 1.149 billion (over CZK 29 billion), and the return on sales rose to 8.4% – a ratio that measures the company’s after-tax profit against its total sales. This positive trend is mainly the result of an improved mix of cars sold, favourable exchange rate movements and stringent compliance with cost-saving measures under the Next Level Efficiency+ programme.
