Elroq Is Second-Best Car of the Year in Europe

The compact electric SUV secured Škoda its best-ever result in the prestigious international Car of the Year poll, in which respected journalists select the European Car of the Year. The Elroq came in second behind the winning Mercedes‑Benz CLA, ahead of the Kia EV4, Citroën C5 Aircross, Fiat Grande Panda, Dacia Bigster and Renault 4 in the final round. Over the past few months, the judges thoroughly tested the finalists and evaluated them according to criteria such as design, comfort, safety, efficiency, handling, performance, functionality, environmental performance and price. Škoda’s best result in the poll to date was fourth place, achieved by the Octavia, Fabia, Roomster and Yeti models. Last year, the Elroq became one of the most successful electric cars on the European market. In April, July and October, it was the best-selling electric car in Europe and ultimately achieved second place among electric cars for the entire year 2025. It also collected a number of prestigious awards.

You can see this legendary model at a special exhibition that the Škoda Museum opened in January. It runs until 21 May. The exhibition features common and rare versions of the „Tudor“, along with period photographs, film footage and unique artefacts.

Tariff reduction in India

“India intends to reduce tariffs on car imports from the EU from the current 110% to 40%... Škoda Auto, which oversees Volkswagen Group activities in India, already operates on the Indian market. The reduction in customs duties is expected to lead to growth in investment in production, expansion of supply chains and increased competition in the global automotive industry.”

Impressions of the Fabia 130

“On the roads of Ardèche and at the Pôle Mécanique d‘Alès circuit, the Fabia 130 demonstrated remarkable versatility. This is not a radical GTI of the old type but a dynamic, honest and very attractive city car that prioritises balance and driving pleasure over technological conveniences.”

Electric car range test

“How much does the standard consumption of electric cars differ from the actual consumption when the temperature is around zero and you are driving exclusively on the highway? The German club ADAC sought the answer to this question for the second time. This time, the test participants were battery-powered cars suitable for family travel... The Škoda Elroq costs half as much as the Porsche Macan but performs almost as well on long journeys.”
