Octavia Combi Now Also Produced in Kvasiny

Following last year's launch of the Škoda Auto brand's best‑selling model in liftback body style, the Kvasiny plant began series production of the estate variant on 18 May. This was preceded by months of preparation, including modifications to assembly and logistics workstations, employee training and validation of new procedures on pre‑series vehicles. "The launch required precise coordination across all key areas. Thanks to collaboration between departments and plants, we were able to start series production on schedule and to the required quality," said Mojmír Hájek, Head of PA – Launch Management. Expanding production of the Octavia Combi to another domestic plant helps the carmaker make more efficient use of capacity and better distribute output between Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny. "For our plant, this is a significant step. I would like to thank all colleagues whose work and commitment were essential to a successful start," said Jan Umlauf, Head of PFK – Car Production Kvasiny.

Human Touch Has New Ambassadors

Nearly 60 new ambassadors have begun their journey through the Human Touch programme. During a series of workshops, they were introduced to their role, the fundamentals of this approach, and topics covering both customer and employee experience. They explored the importance of a people-first mindset first-hand. Working in groups, they assembled a Lego set – ordering the pieces through a deliberately flawed app, collecting them from uninformed warehouse staff, and making do with an incomplete instruction manual. This preparation enables the ambassadors to strengthen customer focus more effectively and to develop a company culture built on collaboration, openness, and problem-solving.

Partnering to Drive Innovation

Škoda Auto Vysoká škola (ŠAVŠ) has entered into a partnership with Entry Engineering. The collaboration will focus on applied research, technological innovation, software development, cybersecurity, and new educational modules. A joint workplace named Joint Laboratory Entry Engineering & ŠAVŠ will also be established as part of the planned ŠAVŠ Innovation Centre.

Former Employees Gather at the Škoda Museum

The traditional reunion of former employees took place on 4 June at the Škoda Museum, welcoming 165 attendees including their companions. The programme included recognition of the longest‑serving and oldest former employees, a musical performance, and tours of both the exhibition and the plant. Attendees could also learn about benefits available to former employees and visit a health corner. A new addition this year was a cybersecurity stand. The Event was attended by Jaroslav Povšík, Chairman of the KOVO Trade Union Works Council, and Jan Frydrych, Head of SP – HR Planning & overnance.

Emphasis on comfort and spaciousness

The interior feels particularly clean and well-organised. The horizontal dashboard is dominated by a large, vertical centre display with a 13.6-inch diagonal, complemented by a digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. This is nothing new in the automotive industry, but it's a first for Škoda. At the same time, the car retains just enough buttons to avoid becoming a fully digital solution.

The interior quality is stunning

I've already mentioned the gorgeous panoramic roof, and the materials and overall craftsmanship in the Peaq model are truly impressive. I dare say that the quality of the interior will be one of the main selling points, though I must add that so far I've only sat in the top-of-the-line trim level.

A Programme for Future Drivers and Prospective Students

On 18 June, the Škoda Auto Vocational School (SOUs) held its traditional Safety Day for second-year students on technical programmes that include driving lessons. The future drivers learned how to respond to critical situations on the road and found out more about road safety and first aid. They examined a cross-section car, tried out a crash and rollover simulator, explored a virtual traffic zone, and watched firefighters demonstrate how to free occupants from a car. Safety Day was followed by the Echt Praxe programme for more than 130 pupils from Year 8 at local primary schools. At Lean Centre, they tried their hand at using a torque wrench, 3D printing and maintenance training demonstrations, gaining an insight into modern technologies and vocational education at Škoda Auto.

Top Dealers Head to Karlovy Vary

In early June, 108 representatives of the most successful Škoda dealers and importers from 37 countries around the world – including India, Australia and Taiwan – arrived at the iconic Grand Hotel Pupp. The Škoda Best Dealer Event 2026 programme was a thank-you for their outstanding results and dedication to the brand. The highlight of the three-day event was a gala evening attended by Martin Jahn, Board Member for Sales and Marketing, alongside other senior managers. Participants also enjoyed a range of other experiences: they took rides in the competition-spec Fabia RS Rally2 car and in historic cars, and set off on walking and cycling tours around Karlovy Vary.

The Ice Hockey World Championship held in Switzerland in May once again brought significant attention to the Škoda brand.

Here is a selection of interesting figures from the tournament.

250,000

Number of visitors in the fan zones.

211,000

Number of users of the official app, of which the Škoda brand is the main partner.

32,000

Paper helmets distributed – a quarter of them in the Epiq camouflage design.

25,000

More than this number of Škoda merchandise items (including jerseys, scarves and more) were won by participants in on-site competitions.

A Parade of Historic Sports Cars Rolls Through Kvasiny

The 60 national gathering of Škoda sports cars took place on 20 June at the Rozkoš motor-camping site. A convoy of 99 historic cars then drove through the Kvasiny plant, where most of these models were built years ago. Participants were welcomed by Jan Umlauf, head of PFK – Car Production Kvasiny, together with co-organiser and Kvasiny plant veteran Bohuslav Čtvrtečka. A group photo was taken on site, and the new electric crossover Epiq was also on display.
