Škoda Classic Tour Brought Life to the Kokořínsko Region
Some cars have been with a family for decades, others were rescued by their owners with their own hands. This year, the Škoda Classic Tour once again brought together not only exceptional cars, but above all their remarkable stories.
The thirteenth edition of the Škoda Classic Tour once again turned the area around Mladá Boleslav into a showcase of motoring history. A record 227 classic cars and youngtimers of all makes lined up at the start by the Škoda Museum, ready to tackle a 135-kilometre route through the Kokořínsko region. The crews were made up of Škoda Auto employees from Mladá Boleslav, Kvasiny and Vrchlabí together with their families, who enjoyed not only the drive but also a varied accompanying programme.
As in previous years, the veteran rally had a clear competitive edge. Participants followed a route marked with arrows, collected stamps at checkpoints and completed other tasks. The most important parts were three precision tests timed to the hundredth of a second and one secret test, in which the cooperation between driver and navigator was decisive. The first stage ended at Kokořínský důl, where the crews enjoyed a short break, and the route also included a photo point with the brand new Škoda Peaq model.
This year's edition also marked 125 years of the Škoda brand's activities in motorsport. Fittingly, the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 special was on hand at the finish at the Metoděj Vlach Aviation Museum. Overall victory went to Ivan Slimák in a Škoda 1202 pick-up, who collected just 119 penalty points. The three best crews received a voucher for a ride-along in a rally car.
