Mladá Boleslav at the Centre of the Components World
After 10 years, the Konzernplanungstag returned to the main plant. In early September, Group planning experts from around the world gathered there to share their know-how, discuss strategic direction and tour Škoda Auto's production facilities.
The three-day event brought together representatives of the Škoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche and MAN brands. The main aim was not only to present technological developments, but above all to strengthen connections and synergy across the VW Group.

More than 150 participants attended the meeting of planning experts.
Innovations and strategic plans were demonstrated in practice
The first part of the programme took place in the LKK conference hall, where heads of components production planning departments discussed strategic topics and the future of Group production.
The theoretical discussions were followed by tours of the components production halls in Mladá Boleslav. Participants were able to see first-hand the specific technological innovations and optimisations that we use at Škoda Auto every day.
The new battery production hall attracted particular attention. "The past period has been exceptionally successful for Škoda Auto in terms of projects. I'm therefore very pleased that we were able to show our colleagues from other Group brands our technological developments, above all the newly opened battery production, which represents a key step towards our electric future," says Petr Němec, Head of PPK – Components Production Planning.
The Škoda Museum became a hub for sharing experiences
The final day of the meeting was hosted by the Škoda Museum, where representatives of the individual brands presented their best solutions and current component projects through talks and interactive stands. However, the main benefit of the whole day was the open professional discussions and sharing of best practices, which can help make work more efficient at other plants.
A challenge worth taking on
Behind the flawless organisation of the whole logistically demanding event stood a strong team led by components planning project coordinator Martin Lindr. "Organising such a large-scale meeting was extremely demanding in terms of both time and organisation, but the experience and contacts we gained are priceless. Not everything always went exactly to plan, but as a planner I have to be able to react immediately and find an alternative way. Huge thanks go to all our colleagues at Škoda Auto – their willingness, helpfulness and support were absolutely key to the success of the whole event," M. Lindr concludes with a smile.
