Peaq and Epiq Head for the Mountains

In the first half of September, the carmaker prepared a special press presentation of its new electric models. Here are the reactions the cars received.

Event

Setting off in the morning from the airport into the traffic of Munich, Germany, and its surroundings is a perfect task for the compact yet comfortable crossover Epiq. After lunch by Lake Tegernsee, the route continues into the Tyrolean Alps, where the flagship model Peaq can show what adventures it has to offer. This was the concept the carmaker prepared for a presentation of its new models to journalists and influencers on the border of Austria and Germany. It was called Epiq way to Peaq, an epic journey to the summit. Both models showed that they can handle dense city traffic as well as alpine terrain.

45 000

This is how many orders for the Peaq and Epiq cars Škoda Auto had recorded by early September.

The Epiq recently entered the Czech market in the 40 version as well, starting at the most affordable price so far of CZK 659,000, with an even cheaper variant on the way. It was precisely this affordability, combined with the high value customers get for their money, that the presentation focused on. Journalists noted the excellent handling of the model, which is the only one in the Škoda electric portfolio with front-wheel drive. They were also impressed by its practicality, including the large boot.

For the Peaq, the presentation focused on the new features it brings, such as the large vertically oriented display, the premium Sonos sound system, the retractable door handles or the electrochromatic glass roof. Journalists also tried out the variability of the interior space, which allows for comfortable overnight stays and pleasant rest during stops. The front seats offer a relaxation mode, and passengers can fold out a table from the centre console between them.

Epiq

"On paper, it belongs to the B-segment of urban SUVs, but in person the Epiq felt considerably bigger and more premium. Its confident design stood out especially when compared directly with the flagship model, the Peaq. Since both models use design elements of the Modern Solid language, the Epiq certainly doesn't get lost next to the Peaq. It's helped by its wide proportions, the high-set side line, the prominent plastic cladding and the confidently shaped bumpers."

"The lane centring assistant is on a completely different level compared to anything the Škoda cars have offered so far. The system can handle bends on its own that would have been completely unthinkable just five years ago, and it doesn't even need clear road markings to do it. It can see the edge of the asphalt or the kerb, estimate the centre of the road, and keep to the right half of it."

"The new Škoda Epiq excels in every way a small SUV should: comfort, practicality, functionality, value for money, style, handling – simply everything."

Autoexpress.co.uk, 16 Sep 2026

"On the inside, it's a classic Škoda car in the best sense of the word. In a car the size of the Fabia, the engineers managed to fit a boot that even a class-larger combustion-engine car wouldn't need to be ashamed of."

Peaq

"Whichever variant you choose, you get a proper car for your money. The Peaq especially surprises with its huge amount of space, and although it isn't exactly light, behind the wheel it feels unexpectedly agile. At the same time, the engineers placed particular emphasis on comfort."

Autobild.de, 20 Sep 2026

"As its acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds suggests, the flagship Peaq can be surprisingly lively for its size. Behind the wheel, it gives the feeling that you're driving a truly large car. Thanks to solid sound insulation and aerodynamics, however, it glides quietly along the road, including on motorways."

Novinky.cz, 21 Sep 2026

"And then there are the seats. Incredibly comfortable, especially those included in the Relax Package, which wrap nicely around both the driver and the passenger. There's a neck cushion and a massage function – and it's not just for show. It's intense and noticeably reduces fatigue. It's not for nothing that the Peaq is nicknamed 'wellness on wheels'."

Refresher, 21 Sep 2026

“The cabin then feels almost premium, everything is pleasant to look at and touch, the materials are beautifully matched in colour and quality, and the remarkably spacious interior feels even airier thanks to the huge panoramic roof. It looks even better after dark, when it's bathed in ambient lighting (you can choose the colour yourself from up to 30 options).”
