A Modern Space Where You Can Develop

Škoda Auto has opened another ProDigi Hub, this time in Hall M6. Employees can use technologies such as 3D printing or virtual reality there, and the space is also suitable for seminars.

Innovation

The ProDigi Hub in Hall M6 follows on from the one in Hall M18 in terms of its focus (see more in Škoda Mobil 3/2026). Thanks to its location near the training centre and its more spacious layout, however, it has a somewhat broader scope. The flexible, modular space includes not only a technology laboratory, where anyone interested can come to experiment and learn about modern digital technologies, but also a multipurpose and relaxation area. “Our ProDigi Hub has no fixed walls; using curtains and other dividers, it can be arranged into zones that can be opened up or closed off in various ways. This creates space for training sessions, seminars or collaboration on specific projects,” says Václav Holaj from PK/1 – MGMT data, system manag. of comp. product. The laboratory includes several stations where visitors can get to know the technologies. There is 3D printing, smart camera inspection, a collaborative robot (a machine designed to work safely alongside people) and virtual reality. “We have stations with various software that is used at Škoda Auto. Visitors can try out tools that may not be available across the whole carmaker but could be useful in their work,” explains V. Holaj.

During the summer months, ProDigi Hub in hall M6 is open from 8 to 12; opening hours are then set to be extended.

For all employees

Like the first ProDigi Hub in the M18 Paint Shop, this one is intended for all employees. “Digitalisation is a high priority across the carmaker, partly with a view to our future competitiveness. That is why we want to make it more popular and help people learn in this area,” says V. Holaj. In his view, the ProDigi Hub also serves to develop talent – people who can become digital experts over time and help spread digitalisation further.

At the same time, it is becoming a breeding ground for ideas. “We also work as a contact point where people can discuss their plans and ideas; we can either help them ourselves or put them in touch with specialists,” says V. Holaj. This process makes it possible to evaluate ideas and determine how viable they are and what they could bring if they were put to use at the carmaker. “We meet people from different departments here, we talk about technologies and look for meaningful use cases,” the digital expert adds.

The ProDigi Hub in Hall M6 was officially opened on 30 June, attended by Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto Chief Production Officer, Thoralf Hanschel, Head of PK – Component Production, Jaroslav Povšík, Chairman of the KOVO Trade Union Works Council, and other guests.
