Digital Delivery Centers Are Delivering Millions of Euros

A key element of Škoda Auto’s digital transformation has completed its first eighteen months. Now it is entering the next stage.

The Digital Delivery Centers (DDC) have successfully completed a trial period in which they proved able to bring digital innovations quickly into everyday practice. At the same time, they expanded their capacity, strengthened their expertise in artificial intelligence and became an even more important part of the carmaker’s digital transformation.

Škoda Auto continues to build advanced skills in artificial intelligence while also strengthening cooperation with the IT teams of individual areas, in line with the ongoing IT transformation. The DDC project is part of the company strategy and will expand further in the coming years.

“More than 350 completed requests and expected benefits of over 15 million euros confirm that Digital Delivery Centers can turn ideas into practice quickly and deliver measurable value to the company. It has also become clear that they form an important bridge between the company’s needs and the possibilities of technology,” says Martin Ivánek, coordinator FIT/3 – AI/Data Transformation.

The benefit of the DDC lies in linking expert knowledge from practice with modern technologies such as data analytics, low-code (simple solutions for creating software) and artificial intelligence. This approach allows them to respond effectively to the needs of individual departments and to deliver solutions with measurable benefits quickly.

The success of the Digitalisation Centers has also been noticed outside Škoda Auto. The project finished among the top three in the Industry 4.0 2025 Award in the category for the best implementation within a company.

Inspiration, sharing and the development of AI competences

The DDC are significantly expanding their competences in artificial intelligence and can better address the growing needs of specialist departments. Alongside support with introducing AI solutions, they now also focus on more advanced topics, their design and implementation.

Active involvement in internal technology initiatives is another important part of building expertise. DDC representatives took part in the spring Agentic Spark Code Along with Google, where they gained practical experience with the latest AI technologies and approaches to using them in a business environment. In September, DDC representatives will join another Code Along Event, this time co-organised with Microsoft.

The Digitalisation Centers play a key role in identifying and preparing the delivery of AI Value Stars, strategic transformation projects with the potential to bring the company more than 10 million euros, support more efficient cooperation across areas and have a positive effect on how a significant number of employees work.

Successful DDC projects

ROI App

An application that automates investment approvals and payback calculations, replacing e-mails, phone calls and manual calculations. “The solution went live at the end of last year and the relevant departments use it actively. Colleagues elsewhere in the Group have shown interest in the application too,” points out Marek Zikmunda from F/2 – Digital Delivery Center for Area F.

PROCOP (Production Copilot)

An internal assistant with artificial intelligence for production, which makes it easy to work naturally with production data, processes and documentation. “We help employees obtain the information they need quickly, improve the quality of documentation and make production processes more efficient using modern artificial intelligence technologies,” says Vladislav Poverin from PPD – Digitalisation of Production.

Problem sheets

The digitalisation of the internal quality system continues. “We have extended the solution to component production as well. We are now focusing on deployment at the Indian plants and on artificial intelligence agents that will make working with the application easier for users and help them make better use of the available data,” explains Martin Homolka from GQF-3 – QM MBO, Measurement and Digital Center.

Application for creating requests for job descriptions / AKV+

Line managers use this practical tool to submit requests for job descriptions or AKV+ for managerial positions. It can also generate forms directly in PDF format. “The application also includes a clear dashboard that makes it easier for the STO/PSI team to record and manage all requests, make subsequent changes and process them further in the ePPFM system,” adds Lukáš Procházka from SPA/S – HR Digitalisation & Digital Adoption GCC.
