A Great Idea, a Fantastic Experience
The creators of the best solutions from the Škoda IVET 2025 customer innovation fair for technical development enjoyed an experiential programme organised by the Škoda Motorsport team. They also visited the new "Concept Unmasked" exhibition at the Škoda Museum.
Put on a helmet, sink firmly into the sports seat, breathe in the scent of petrol, and then admire the artistry of top driver and 2023 national champion Dominik Stříteský, as well as the capabilities of the Fabia RS Rally2 race car. Sudden acceleration, sharp turns and breathtaking speed — this is exactly the experience that awaited the fifteen best innovators honoured at the Škoda IVET 2025 technical development customer innovation fair at the end of March. "It was incredibly intense. My colleagues said it was like a roller coaster, but for me it was even more intense. I really couldn't keep up with the track — it was going by so fast. I'm glad at least the driver had studied it," laughed Michal Vondra from the EEH/4 – Frontend Connectivity Development department, the developer of the Traffication app, which was one of the top innovations showcased at the IVET 2025 fair.
However, the programme for innovators wasn't just about adrenaline on a closed track. During a tour of the Škoda Motorsport team's facilities, participants learned about new developments as well as the team's rich history. The connection between Škoda Auto and motorsport has lasted for 125 years, a fact commemorated by the special livery on the Fabia RS Rally2.
The group also visited the new "Concept Unmasked" exhibition at the Škoda Museum (which we featured in Škoda Mobil 4/2026). The participants were guided through the exhibition by the most qualified person for the job — Michal Velebný, coordinator of GKM/3 – Restoration Workshop. "The storage facility opens people's eyes. There, you have the chance to see cars that never made it to customers and judge their timeless character for yourselves," said Iveta Stejskalová from the ES/2 – Virtual Development, AI, Innovation and Research department, who is the organiser of the Škoda IVET trade fair. "History clearly shows us that innovation has been and remains an integral part of our brand's development. We must support its creation and apply it to the greatest extent possible," added Jan Dědek, Innovation Manager for the ED – Škoda Design division.
The award for the best innovators thus symbolically linked speed and the future with tradition and history.
