Logistics Offers Opportunities for Talent

Logistics Discussion Forum — two days filled with inspiration, teamwork, and real-world challenges from the modern logistics sector.

This year's two-day Logistics Discussion Forum saw 160 students from logistics programmes participate in a real-world setting.

The Logistics Discussion Forum, held on 18 and 19 March, confirmed that linking education with practical experience is of fundamental importance in the automotive industry. Nearly 160 students in logistics programmes at the Škoda Auto Vocational School (SOUs) had the opportunity to experience what the real world of modern logistics and manufacturing looks like. Over the course of two intensive days, participants moved through nine themed stations, where they worked in teams to solve tasks inspired by real-world operations. It wasn't just about technical knowledge — collaboration, communication and the ability to come up with fresh ideas played a key role.

A new feature that brought everyone together

Every year, the organising team looks for ways to enrich the project. For this year's edition, they created the "Fun Zone," which offered a space for informal gatherings, active engagement and entertainment before the awards ceremony at the Škoda Museum. The relaxed atmosphere strengthened relationships between participants and organisers and was met with a very positive response.

Ceremonial programme at the Škoda Museum

The highlight of the entire programme took place in the prestigious halls of the Škoda Museum, where the awards ceremony was held. The gathering brought together company executives, industry experts and educators. Maren Gräf, Board Member for People & Culture; Andreas Dick, Board Member for Production and Logistics; and Jaroslav Povšík, Chairman of the KOVO Trade Union Works Council, accepted the invitation and contributed with their speeches. Also in attendance were the event's patron, Luboš Doleček, Head of the PL – Brand Logistics Department, and SOUs Director Martin Slabihoudek. In their remarks, they all agreed that supporting young talent, close cooperation with schools and the systematic development of professionals are key to the future of logistics and the entire automotive industry.

The ceremony was hosted by Adam Jindřich and Tereza Pospíšilová, former SOUs students who now work in logistics. Their roles symbolically underscored the main theme of the event, adding energy and authenticity to the programme while serving as an inspiring example for current students.

A figure who shaped generations

A powerful moment of the ceremony was the farewell to Martin Slabihoudek, director of the vocational school. His long-term contributions, personal dedication and support for young talent have left a significant mark not only on education but also on logistics itself. This farewell marked the symbolic end of an important professional chapter — and at the same time served as a reminder of how important the people behind the development of technical education at Škoda Auto are.

The 2026 Logistics Discussion Forum once again confirmed that linking theory with practice makes sense. At the same time, it created an inspiring environment that gave space to talent, collaboration and human values — the key pillars of the future of logistics and the entire automotive industry.

Who stood out among the award winners

One of the key moments was the announcement of the top three students, who impressed the jury with their expertise, proactive approach and ability to seek innovative solutions. Among the award winners were Kateřina Musilová (project: Optimisation of M1 Logistics Systems), Tereza Procházková (project: Paperless Logistics) and Marcela Rýdlová (project: Solar Parking Lot). They received their awards from Maren Gräf and Luboš Doleček — in addition to recognition, they took home a tablet and the opportunity to spend a workday with a logistics manager.

Teamwork also played a strong role, and among the best teams of this year's competition were: "Roštěnky," "Mentolky" and "The Blues." The winners, who impressed with the quality of their work and presentations, creativity and strong team spirit, were congratulated by Jaroslav Povšík and Andreas Dick, who presented them with gifts and a challenge cup.
