Digital Management of Logistics Processes
Škoda Auto has implemented SAP — part of the Group's ONE Log programme — at its new battery system production facility in Mladá Boleslav (more on this in Škoda Mobil 3/2026). This programme unifies and standardises logistics processes across all VW Group plants and represents a significant milestone in battery production.
The solution, built on the SAP S/4HANA platform, provides comprehensive digital support for both production and logistics. It covers planning, inventory management, warehouse operations and the shipment of finished battery systems. Thanks to its integration with automated warehouses and autonomous AGV vehicles, it enables precise and synchronised real-time management of material flows. The result is greater process stability, a higher degree of automation and, above all, transparency across the entire production chain. The system covers all key logistics activities — from ordering materials through production supply to the shipment of final products. Employees thus have a unified overview of material flow and inventory status.
The project was implemented by the logistics department in collaboration with IT and integration partner IBM. "The deployment of the SAP system in the new battery plant represents a significant step in the digitalisation of logistics processes at Škoda Auto. The standardised processes of the ONE Log programme increase the transparency of material flows and support stable and efficient battery system production," said Andrej Bednár, Head of the PLS – Logistics System Support department.
