The ONE Log system was developed by the PLS team
Tomáš Danihlík
System security for MEB battery modules
PLS – Logistics System Support
What projects are you working on with the team?
We manage the call-off systems for assembly lines — these must always function properly, otherwise production could come to a halt. At the same time, we manage systems for the PLT – Škotrans department, which handles material deliveries to the plant and the subsequent shipment of vehicles to customers.
Are you intermediaries between IT and business?
We often address the delineation of responsibilities. Situations arise where it is unclear where the role of IT ends and the role of business begins. As part of the SAP system implementation, we frequently determine where our customer's responsibility ends and ours begins. We must hand over the system in a way that end-users understand and embrace it as their own.
In addition, you also deployed the SAP logistics system in the new battery plant.
Yes, we use it as part of the ONE Log project. Its goal is to unify logistics systems across the entire VW Group and eliminate process differences between individual brands. This will reduce costs associated with developing and customising systems to fit various processes.
Was the entire responsibility for its implementation on you?
In this case, yes, because it was we who had to prepare the system. Our task was to ensure that battery production for vehicles — not only Škoda, but also for other VW Group brands — could start without any issues and by the predetermined deadline. The SAP system we gradually implemented was part of a larger mosaic of solutions, and if a single piece were missing or didn't fit, the entire launch of the production hall could have stalled. That was a huge responsibility.
