Škoda Climbs to Second Place in Europe

In the first quarter of 2026, Škoda Auto delivered 271,900 vehicles to customers worldwide, and in Europe (EU 27 + 4), became the second-best-selling brand with 222,500 vehicles.* Financial results are also strong — revenue rose by 9.1% to 7.9 billion euros (over 190 billion Czech korunas), operating profit increased by more than a fifth to 660 million euros (over 16 billion Czech korunas), and return on sales rose to 8.3%, compared to 7.5% in the same period last year. A significant factor in this was the increase in sales of fully electric vehicles, which nearly doubled compared to the same period last year to 51,800 vehicles. The Elroq became the second and the Enyaq the fifth most sought-after electric vehicle in Europe. The Škoda brand recorded significant growth in Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Norway, the Czech Republic and Poland, as well as in other European markets, where it delivered a total of 17.1% more vehicles than last year. In March, it reached a milestone: it delivered the highest number of vehicles to customers in Europe in a single month in its entire history — exactly 90,915. International markets are also reporting an upturn, with deliveries continuing to grow in India, as well as in Egypt and Morocco, for example.

WAPAS Celebrates 20 Years

Twenty years ago, Škoda Auto became a pioneer within the VW Group for a new solution for tracking warranty repairs. A key component was its integration with accounting via the SAP system. This led to the creation of the WAPAS solution, developed by the Škoda GCC (specifically the FIC-1/6 unit – Group Finance and Aftersales Templates). This system became the standard within the VW Group and was deployed in more than 20 countries. From a vast amount of data related to warranty repairs, it can generate clear, accurate and timely invoices. It enables manufacturers to settle accounts with importers worldwide, who then use it to manage a similar process within their dealer networks. Further details can be found on Škoda Space.

Minister of Education Robert Plaga also discussed key topics with the participants. The discussion focused, for example, on the future direction of the sector in connection with the Economic Strategy of the Czech Republic.

The Technical Development office spaces in Building C/510 are undergoing extensive renovation. The goal is to create a modern, healthy and functional environment that meets current standards. A doorbell that outsmarts even smart headphones

Škoda Auto, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Salford, has introduced the DuoBell doorbell. It is a Simply Clever solution that addresses an everyday problem. The bell combines a specific frequency with a resonator that emits rapid, irregular beats. This allows it to bypass the algorithms of active noise-cancelling headphones, enabling their users to notice the cyclist much sooner. Škoda Auto plans to make the findings freely available.
